One America News Network, "OAN", a credible source for 24/7 national and international news, released this evening its Post GOP Debate Poll results conducted by Gravis Marketing. Two primary questions asked to Republican polled participants were "Who do you think won the debate?" and "Who do you think lost the debate?" GOP Presidential Candidates Ben Carson and Marco Rubio scored well in both categories. Donald Trump came in second on the question of "who won the debate?" but he also scored second on "who lost the debate?" showing a heavily polarized Republican base when it comes to their post-debate opinions of the New York Businessman. Rand Paul and Chris Christie did not have a good evening, with both scoring at the bottom of "who won?" and Paul taking the lead of "who lost?" with Christie coming in a distant third, behind Trump.

Donald Trump 19%

Marco Rubio 13%

Jeb Bush 10%

Mike Huckabee 9%

John Kasich 8%

This is a poll of registered Republicans—and they didn’t even ask whether they had watched the debate.

Dr. Carson had some great responses - intelligent, well-timed, heavy responses. I know he has no chance of winning, but if by the grace of God a proper conservative wins, I hope he will ensure that Carson has a place in his administration (and not as Secretary General, which is a silly post, just because he’s a doctor).

Rubio looks to be in third place, so the headline is screwed up.

So, according to their poll, a loser won.

Here’s some funny takes on the candidates:

Put John Kasich in work boots, a worn flannel shirt, and ragged jeans, and he could be a leading character on “Swamp
Murders.”

Ted Cruz looked like an avuncular college professor explaining the fine points of governance to bored students.

Chris Christie looked like a celebrity chef who’d been nibbling at the all-you-can-eat buffet table.

Ann Coulter said youthful-looking Marco Rubio reminder her of an overbearing bellboy-—eagerly small-talking hotel guests-—as they dodge and weave to avoid him.

George Pataki looked like he’d rather be up in Dannemora-—looking for an escape route.

Jeb Bush looked like he didn’t know he was supposed to be debating.

Rubberio removed himself from consideration by scheming with Scumer against the citizens.

Don’t any of these people know he is still in favor of abandoning the rule of law and surrendering the country to fraudulently documented foreigners?

I liked Carson’s answers too but he is not mean enough to be the president this country needs now. GWB was not mean enough either.

They have it out for Cruz now. They are bolstering up Rubio by making it appear Ted Cruz was unfair in his assessment of who is for amnesty.

Rubio’s ambitions have led him to being dishonest. He really is too immature to be President. Same for Rand Paul.

A poll of Registered Republicans some percentage of which we can assume watched the debate.

So the poll reflects, pretty accurately IMHO, the MSM reporting of who won.

Carson told the best joke of the evening no doubt. He is not qualified to be President of the United Ststes.

He didn’t beat Trump.
He didn’t beat Cruz
He is an MSM distraction.

Fortunately the people who actually watched the debate do know who won.

Thanks for the post. Even leaving Trump to the side, these results only roughly conform to the general thrust of the pundits.

While there were some exceptions. Trump was thought to have embarrassed himself. But, the assessment of the pundits has been consistently wrong. 19 percent thought he won in the survey of Republicans, and he improved with 36 percent. He does have big negatives. His negatives is and has been his challenge from the get go.

The pundits thought Rubio and Kasich were the big winners. Rubio did very well in this survey. But Kasich, meh. Carson and Huckabee had mixed but generally positive reviews by the pundits. Both impressed this survey of Republicans. The takeaway should be this: Kasich did well among the pundits and didn’t do well among Republicans, because of his moderate positions on Obamacare and gay marriage.

Cruz and Walker weren’t viewed by many as winning or losing, but both had solid net gains in favorability. According to the pundits, they were among the worst performers. Rand Paul was near the bottom among both the pundits and the Republicans. Takeaway, Republicans like conservatives, but not the pundits; but, this “different kind of Republican” thing is bombing with everybody.

Among Republicans, Christie did poorly, and Jeb only fair. Among pundits, it’s flip-flopped. Jeb poorly (perhaps this was relative to expectations or hopes) and Christie only fair.
