Cruz, Walker Huckabee, Bush: Red State Gathering live video
Hot Air ^ | August 8, 2016 | Ed Morrissey

ATLANTA – The Red State Gathering picks back up today with its live streaming video, as four more presidential hopefuls make their case to nearly 1,000 conservative activists. The first to make his way to the stage will be Mike Huckabee at 9 am ET. Ted Cruz has the 11:30 slot before lunch, Jeb Bush is scheduled for 1:30, and Scott Walker closes out the formal schedule at 4:30. The venue then shifts to the College Football Hall of Fame, where Donald Trump had been scheduled to speak, but now Megyn Kelly has been invited in his place. (Note: I do not believe the live feed will be operating from CFHOF.)

Besides the presidential candidates, there are other events on the schedule worth pointing out. Arthur Brooks of the American Enterprise Institute will make a short appearance at 10:15. Guy Benson and Alex Smith will discuss ways to bring millennials into the conservative movement and Republican Party at 2:30. At 3:15, Kristina Ribali and Brad Jackson will talk about different strategies to get government out of crisis management for families by building a coalition of private community groups to take over that role.

The best event on the schedule outside of the presidential contenders, though, will be Kelvin Cochran’s address to RSG15. Until a few months ago, Kelvin Cochran was the fire chief for Atlanta, and had been the national fire chief in the Obama administration. Cochran wrote a book of Christian Bible study for men, on his own time, and after clearing it with the city’s ethics official. When Cochran made reference to homosexuality as a temptation men face, the former Obama administration official found himself out of a job — even though the city found no evidence at all that Cochran had ever discriminated against anyone. Kristin Waggoner of Alliance Defending Freedom, which represents Cochran in this case, will introduce Cochran at 2 pm. Cochran is an amazing speaker, and it will be must-watch video.

Is this the one Donald Trump got excluded from? Because even without him, people should still be able to see that Jeb Bush sucks big time.

Yes, this is the event he was uninvited from - and Miss Mayhem Kelly was invited to take his place. I don’t think she is even a Republican -not after listening to the video with Howard Stern.

Perfect chance to attack Erick for his media-groveling ways and to defend Trump.
*
Let’s see who is wise enough and man enough to do it.

You’re a well known Walker hater but now you believe that Cruz is a RINO?

You know what is sad? A lot of these politicians, and that includes Walker, have to do fundraisers and go begging for money to run for office. Why does it have to cost so much to get elected? More people could be themselves if they didn’t have to depend on donors.

I don’t think she is even a Republican -not after listening to the video with Howard Stern.

I am glad that she has such a sense of womanly self-worth and dignity that when she gets to choose whom she talks to, she chooses proper and sophisticated gentlemen like Howard Stern.

Trump makes his own fights and he can clean them up.

Walker tried in the Fox debate but why do the other candidates have to spend their time helping someone who seems to relish being the center of attention? The Donald is free to run his own campaign.

Breitbart: Scott Walker: We Should Be Talking About Hillary Clinton’s Worldwide Record of Failure

"CLEVELAND, Ohio: GOP presidential candidate Gov. Scott Walker stepped in to keep the peace when Fox News anchor Bret Baier was going back and forth with GOP frontrunner Donald Trump on the topic of his donations to Democrats and the Clinton Foundation.

Baier asked Trump what he received from Hillary Clinton and Rep. Nancy Pelosi in exchange for the money he donated.

Trump responded, “For Hillary Clinton, I said be at me wedding and she came to my wedding.”

Trump went on to explain that Clinton had no choice, because he gave to her foundation, which was supposed to be for charity.

“I didn’t know her money would be used on private jets going all over the world. It was.” “Mr. Trump, we’re going to move on. Coming back to you Governor Walker,” Baier directed.

Walker responded, “One second on this. We spend a lot of time talking about Hillary Clinton, pinging us back and forth. Let’s be clear, we should be talking about Hillary Clinton on that last subject, because everywhere in the world that Hillary Clinton touched is more messed up today than before her and the President took office.”

Trump echoed Walker’s statement, “It’s true.”

And, then that disgusting interview immediately after the debate with Debbie Blabber mouth Shultz, where she let her talk and talk without interruption or scorn. It was sickening! That tells me she agreed with DWS.

So, any candidate that needs to fund raise is, what?

Only millionaires and billionaires need apply?

What?

People donate to candidates that they believe hold their same positions/opinions.

Would you give money to Trump if he was running and wasn’t able to fund his entire campaign? Would he be someone you’d find worthy?

The Constitution prescribed a very limited government so little advantage could be gained by ‘donors’. Unlimited government spending and power means unlimited attempts to influence it, if only as a defensive measure.

Speaking of interviews. How long can you watch? I watched the full 31:16.

Trump is an emotional trainwreak.

VIDEO: 31:16 Donald Trump Interview CNN Don Lemon FULL Donald Trump Megyn Kelly 'Blood Coming Out of Her...

Now is a good time for Ted Cruz to step away from slip-streaming behind Trump and take what voters he can with him.

I agree. Each candidate should spend time explaining and presenting their own ideas and vision, neither tearing down the other candidates or building them up. If the journalists try to dray them in, just say “no comment” and move on to another topic.

They should support him because the media is a conservative candidate’s enemy.
Trump’s a great and effective tool against the media.

You’re imposing ‘rules of engagement’ on conservative candidates that doom them.
Trump is a weapon they should and must use.

No Trumpy no watchy

If Erick Erickson puts a "no Trumps allowed" sign on his treehouse over this latest absurd faux "outrage," it becomes impossible to take him or Red State seriously. The word has indeed gone out from the cabal to take Trump out pronto, and by the time this is all over we will have a pretty good idea of who owns who.

(Some of us will be less shocked than others.)

First of all, you are terribly naive about the money that the rich donate to candidates. Trump spelled it out Thursday night - they give to curry favor from politicians -not necessarily because they agree with their policies. You sound a little ignorant on this issue. Secondly, don’t assume I’m on the Trump bandwagon. I’m still undecided at this time. I like that he is shaking things up, and is very interesting. I just need to hear more substance and some plans from him. He doesn’t have to give a detailed list, just a little more meat in his speeches. So, don’t assume something you know nothing about.
