The U.S. Justice Department failed to prove a North Carolina county sheriff ordered deputies to target Hispanic residents in violation of their civil rights, a federal judge ruled Friday.
Judge Thomas Schroeder dismissed the governments civil lawsuit against Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson. Justice Department attorneys failed to demonstrate that Johnsons agency engaged in a pattern of unconstitutional law enforcement against Hispanics, the judge ruled. The government had alleged Johnsons deputies routinely targeted Latinos for traffic stops.
A statistical study commissioned by the DOJ said the Alamance County Sheriffs Office was as much as 10 times more likely to stop Hispanic drivers for traffic infractions than non-Latino drivers. But that evidence fell short since government attorneys failed to point to anyone who was mistreated, Schroeder wrote in a 253-page ruling issued nearly a year after he presided over a trial without a jury. DOJ spokeswoman Dena Iverson said the agency was disappointed in the ruling and will review it before deciding whether to appeal.

I give up.
I can find no race called “hispanic” or “latino”.
Spaniards are from the European peninsula known as Iberia, and share the R1B haplotype with the Irish, the Welsh, much of Britain, the Bretons and all sorts of other Europeans.
They speak a language called “Spanish” (um, “Spainish”) which is just a rather harsh version of Roman Latin.
So uh...what race are they that they could be “profiled”?
I noticed AP was careful to not use the word “race”.
It's a dodge. As always, they are trying to equate nationality with race.
It doesn't matter how dark your windows are tinted,or how careful you are to obey all traffic laws, new technology just pings and pings all sorts of interesting things to those Federal, State, County and local City government/police departments who paid for the software solutions! LOL.
Too bad that idiot Snow in Phoenix could not understand that.
