But we have to support him. He’s the only one that, “stands up!” Raising taxes is actually conservative!

Darwin called it something like “Evolution”. Works with animals and ideas.

It was just a few years ago that Obama and Clinton said that marriage was between a man and a woman.

I”m more worried about his flirtation with single-payer healthcare and letting all the non-violent/criminals getting an “expedited” legalization.

I think conservatives could appreciate Trump’s getting swept up during the Perot era in a one-time elimination of the federal debt by one-time taxing only those with $10M+.

No wonder the rich, caring liberals and compassionate conservatives, are terrified of him!

I once told my brother I would kill him ... and I once told a prospective girlfriend I had a job ... and I once thought I would be a fighter pilot ... and I once was confused between a common monomial and a common binomial .... come to think of it ... still am ... and I once ....

But when the RATS propose such things, Jonathan Karl and ABC News never have such blaring headlines.

It doesn’t matter. It just doesn’t matter. To many of the people (including Freepers) who support Trump, what he says, what he has said, what he does, what he has done....none of that matters.

It’s a cult of personality. They like Trump, or the idea of Trump, at least. And so they shape the reality of Trump to fit the idea, facts be damned. Trump says something they like? Great, he’s the best! Trump says something they don’t like? Well, we all change our mind, he’s still the best!

he is in the wrong party.

I heard that he criticised Walker for fighting the unions and said he could have just raised taxes to avoid being divisive

George Bush once lead the country into a failed war using bogus intelligence which cost the country thousands of lives and trillions of dollars and then he lead the country into the biggest financial calamity since the great depression. His father once famously promised not to raise any new taxes and then went ahead and raised new taxes anyways. And now his brother wants to be president.

To: arista; All
Trump’s plan to tax the rich is actually how the federal government raised revenue in the early days of the country. From the writings of Thomas Jefferson …
The rich alone use imported articles, and on these alone the whole taxes of the General Government are levied [emphasis added]. … Our revenues liberated by the discharge of the public debt, and its surplus applied to canals, roads, schools, etc., the farmer will see his government supported, his children educated, and the face of his country made a paradise by the contributions of the rich alone, without his being called on to spend a cent from his earnings.” —Thomas Jefferson to Thaddeus Kosciusko, 1811.

In fact, not only were most of the delegates to the Constitutional Convention wealthy, but George Washington, president of the Convention, was a Bill Gates of his time thanks to Martha.

I say that we let the federal government be the play toy of the rich. After all, it was established by rich people.

But we also need to repeal the ill-conceived 17th Amendment and allow state legislators to uniquely elect senators as the Founding States had intended, senators who will protect their states by killing bills which steal state powers and state revenues associated with those powers.
