When House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy headlined a fundraiser in early June the room was packed with defense industry lobbyists, but reps from one megacontractor were missing Boeing.
Not only was Boeing absent at that fundraiser, the contractor has cut off all political contributions to the No. 2 House Republican over his support for killing the Export-Import Bank, which facilitates billions of dollars in low-interest loans to U.S. exporters like Boeing. General Electric, also a major supporter of renewing Ex-Im and a benefactor of the agency, has followed suit and has not contributed to the California Republican this year. They each gave McCarthy the maximum $10,000 during the 2014 election cycle.
Combined, Boeing and GE have halted political contributions to more than a dozen Republican lawmakers opposed to reauthorizing the bank, after cutting checks to those lawmakers during the 2014 election cycle, according to a POLITICO analysis of Federal Election Commission records. And an additional 17 Ex-Im opponents that received contributions in 2014 from one of GEs political action committees have gotten nothing this year from either company.
McCarthy has long been a vocal opponent of Ex-Im, arguing that the private sector should be able to underwrite loans for companies looking to sell their goods abroad.

The cronies are revolting
That does it! I’m not buying any more 787’s.
Boeing and GE are two of the most corrupt.
GE has been selling the nation down the river for a long time.
Dont these idiots see this is a communist outfit? These corps do not see further than their greedy nose.
How about a slightly wet Boeing 777 part found in Reunion island?
“That is why I support Trump...he does not need donations from Lobbyists.”
+1
Never liked GE. Boeing needs the cheap financing capital (tax payer guaranteed) to compete with Airbus.
But I like Trump’s method better. If Airbus has access to government financing, we should level the playing field by charging tariffs on Airbus planes sold to US airlines. That way the cost is shifted away from US tax payers.
No one has argued more strongly against the Ex-Im Bank than Ted Cruz.
Cruz opposed it not only strongly, but also eloquently.
Funny...I got to boycott Boeing...and I was going to buy 3 787, a 777 and a 747 tomorrow...what should I do with the money I’m saving...
isn’t it amazing $10k worth of donations could buy you billions worth of tax dollars
I’ll never forget Boeing’s dirty dealings for the military tankers a few years ago. Most corrupt thing I’ve ever seen.
GE stands to gain substantially from all the global warming BS. No one wants carbon credits more than GE.
haven’t bought a stinking GE piece of crap since i started working there. cashed all the checks.
Asked my brother in law, who is a financial analyst at Boeing, what is the deal with the ex-im bank. He said that these funds are for financing Boeing customers from smaller airlines/countries who if faced with the normal interest rates wouldn’t be able to buy the planes at all due to the cost + interest. So the result is the low interest loans enable the sale of jets - thus creating the jobs, etc. to produce them.
FYI
They had to do this because if the EX-IM fails, they won’t have any money for donations.
