I’m always amazed at how self-deluded most American blacks are.
That self-delusion is very creepy, and the origin of much of the race issues today. Unskilled black co-workers resent promotions being awarded to non-black workers despite their far better background/qualifications (and here in NJ those other co-workers are often not “white”), and in their minds it is unquestionably a matter of racism. This Silicon Valley story is about race, not job skills; the whole idea of employees creating value for an employer is completely alien to them. They are so far removed from mainstream culture the issues most Americans deal with are unfathomable.
