The verdict was clear when Marco Rubio announced his presidential run with a well-received speech in Miami last April: There was a new member of the top tier in the Republican race. "The official 2016 GOP field gets its first real contender," wrote fivethirtyeight. "Marco Rubio is now a first-tier candidate," said Bloomberg's Mark Halperin. Washington Post columnist Michael Gerson placed Rubio, along with Jeb Bush and Scott Walker, in "the first tier of plausibility."
It got even better from there. In June, the Washington Post declared, "Marco Rubio is now at the top of the Republican presidential field."

Illegals get a free pass.
American citizens continue to be subjected to the surveillance state.
What’s not to like.
Pretty much. Gang of eight traitor, using Democratic Party talking points to attack Trump over the crime spree by Mexican illegals, indications that he has no principles and will say anything to win, etc.
Amnesty.
Which the article even fails to mention.
That's and easy question to answer: Because he's unprincipled.
Rubio is a deceiver.
Rubio wants us to think he has Trumps illegals position. Rubio said I am still in favor of Amnesty I realize I dont have the votes, and I wont bring it up until we do”.
Even Jeb is straight to us, he tells us what we hate to hear. This guy Rubio is a snake.
RINO
PHONY
LIAR
AMNESTY HACK
GOPe
BACK STABBER
Take your pick
Because he betrayed the citizens when he schemed with Schumer against them.
Rubberio is still saying we need to abandon the rule of law and surrender the country to fraudulently documented foreigners.
I will not vote to turn the country into North Mexico.
NO CHEAP LABOR IMPORTERS!
Hanging out with a flake, Juan and Grahmnasty is not the action of a conservative. Word.
Because he sold out on immigration.
Yeah. And RINOs generally lie from a prone position.

Hey, I am not buying what Boobio is selling Snake Oil because he is a lyin SNAKE.
He is only a Senator because the Tea Party pushed him over the top. Once there he betrayed the Tea Party at every turn.
He is a GOPe Squish. Bernie Sanders has more respect for American workers than Rubio.
I think Mr. York is correct, but he did not go far enough. Like most of us, he listed a couple of the symptoms, but not the disease.
Rubio is a Statist.
Same as most of the Republican and all of the Democrat politicians. I was going to say candidates, but this disease goes way past just those running now.
I’m outraged!!!
Well, several of these candidates are sinking because Trump has sucked al the air out of them!
Trump’s rise has been at their expense. I’m sorry to say that goes for Cruz, but also, of course, for Walker, Bush, Rubio, Crispy and all the others to one extent or another.
People, and it doesn’t matter whether “Left” or “Right”, wanted the Republican to control Congress to challenge and stop Obama. Right after the 2014 elections, Obama tried to spin the Republican asswhooping the democrats got by saying—absurdly—that he still represented the majority, that is, people who didn’t vote, and were naturally democrats or liked democrat policy.
Which is a plenty stupid thing to say! If all those who chose not to vote did NOT want the Republicans to win, they would have voted for the democrats, in other words, the status quo. But they didn’t. AND... It was pretty much apparent that the Republicans would win. If anyone was concerned about this—and didn’t want the Republicans to win, they would have been alarmed at this news, and voted to stop it.
Still, they did not, AND, those who went to the polls decidedly cast there vote for the Republicans and AGAINST Obama.
OK, that was 2014. So after the election, people thought, OK, now they’ll stop this guy, fight his amnesty plan, roll back Obamacare, etc., etc., right?
BUT THEY DIDN’T!!!
The Republicans in Congress did NOT fight Obama like they PROMISED during the campaign.
So now it is 9 months after the election to change things, fight Obama, and no Republicans are doing so. They have no fight in them.
Along comes Trump, feisty, mad, and above all, taking it directly to the face of the media, Obama, democrats and other Republicans who refuse to fight!
If you following the 2014 election and the aftermath thereof, it wouldn’t be hard to see this! You don’t need to be a rocket scientist, to realize the people are pissed and want someone—anyone!—to fight for them.
Look at Bush and Rubio... Fighters? Can they take it to the dems and Obama? You’ve got to be kidding, right?
Crispy? Too many people remember that hand-in-hand bromance on the beach after Sandy that helped Obama, so, no. He screwed his own fat self then.
Walker and Cruz are fighters. BUT, Trump is Trumping them. Period. They cannot compete at his level.
All the other candidates don’t have a serious chance, in my humble opinion.
But the candidate that can tap into the angst of the Average American, who sees lawlessness at the top of the government, their jobs kicked to the curb for Chamber of Commerce/Wall Street money, the invasion we’ve been under from immigration and the political correctness that is slowly killing and destroying us will win and win BIG. My prediction.
And I’m LMAO watching all the professional pundit class and media screaming faces missing this!!!
They don’t really have a clue. If they thought about why Trump, and on the other side, Berny Sanders are doing so well, and analyzed this, they’d see why I am right. But they’re so yesterday, with the focus groups, white boards, and conventional K Street lovin’ “wisdom”.
IOW, he is the false Bush. Why support a pretender when you can get the real thing?
No one trusts him .hell I send him money in his Senate race.,.,.goes to DC and turns into a rat .he may run good in Florida because of the Cuban community in Miami
This is the root cause of my dislike of Marco. I am against Bush on the basis of his stands on Immigration and Common Core. But on a personal level I think Bush is a decent fellow, like his dad and brother. I originally liked Rubio, but his immigration double dealings was a big turn off.
