Well said dear onyx. The more investigate his background the more he becomes one of us. Insisting his kids had chores or jobs at young age to instill a strong work ethic. One he not only taught but exhibited by his own actions.

He is so much deeper than the media which has extensive interviews for years has touch on. They were promoting the celebrity Trump not the man.

IIRC Gingrich didn’t just flame out. He was hit by million of dollars of negative ads in Florida and a Florida Gopee that chAnged the rules in mid stream. He actually appealed their action to the national who chose not to listen to the case until the day before the convention. Too late by thethMit had sealed the deal.

With that background Trump has every reason to forewarn the party that he unlike Gingrich will not sit back and take their manipulations.

I have a question for both Trump Supporters and Trump Detractors.

Can you name one current Republican Presidential Candidate who is getting Apolitical Voters, Democrat Voters, Conservative Voters and Independent Voters to seriously consider Voting for a Republican Presidential Candidate in 2016?

I disagree (not with your point of his opponents trying to take him out). Newt could have overcome all that had he not gone silent during that time. He backed off entirely during the debate before Florida, rambled on about exploring space in Florida, and simply did not fight back the way he had been. He was bi-polar in his campaign, and this hurt him more than anything. I hoped for Newt, btw.

Trump will likely never do that.

You don’t get it.

“We” on this forum is about 10 times as many people as you.

You want us to vote for Yeb? Won’t do that again, won’t vote GOPe again. To Hell with the GOPe. They don’t give a damn about my views, they just want my vote. Then they betray us again. F that. Never going back.

Here’s who will never get my support again:

Any GOPe selection.
Yeb Bush
Bitch McConnell
John Boner
Worthless John Cornyn

F them all.

I like Trump and Cruz.

Another reason to support Trump, the only one running who can beat Jeb and Hilliary.

You really are silly, your silly words just make us more resolute on Trump. You post leftie liberal Trump hit pieces and then throw out your own anti-Trump tidbits and think that is going to make us anti-Trump ... and what you really want us to get on the Walker band wagon?

The enemies are Hilliary and her cohort Jeb, but you repeatedly go after Trump, who we see as the only one who can crush those two. You really don’t know how to effectively influence people do you. Thread after thread people disagreeing with you and you don’t get it a wit. Sad really.

Walker is part of the Rino-party problem, do you see FReepers posting negative Walker threads?

Hope has arrived. Hopefully the change is soon to follow.

Some changes are already taking place.

Last cycle at this time Rick Perry was about 15 fold what Newt G was and was twice Mitt Romney. Be careful watching the scoreboard in pre game warm ups.

And I liked Perry a lot. I always know when I'm being a candi-bot if I catch myself doing research to explain away something they've said. I'm guilty of it with Cruz, walker, trump, and fiorini. Better to just confess to myself that they said it, they meant it, they might change it, and that no human is perfect. However, I want so badly to b__slap the gop-e that I'll overlook a few faults.

Well you're one of the great FR posters...but a few polite things to cogitate on: A: what if those faults put someone LEFT of the gop-e that you despise (and we all despise them)? Second, there are others who have fought the gop-e longer than Donald....and third, the scoreboard today is still very very very likely NOT to resemble the final result. And if it does resemble the final result, it will only be after many many fluctuations in the meantime.

It’s early. That’s for certain. As much as Fox is making over tonight’s “debate”, I think they did the major damage themselves before it even started by relegating 7 to the backwater.

And any damage coming out of tonight will be self-inflicted. Despite what others think, the ones Bush must damage early are those going after his voters. That would be Kasich, Christie, Rubio, Pataki, Graham, Gilmore.

Kasich, my governor, has surprised me. Compared to what we had, I like him as governor, but he’s an oddball, “compassionate, safety net, welfare republican”. Moved up to #2 in New Hampshire yesterday. He is now, in my opinion, Bush’s #1 threat.

Kasich will crash and burn in SC....that will be the end of him.

If Bush falters even a little, Kasich will be the GOP-E purist’s number one hope. That’s why Bush will have to backhand Kasich in some way.

IMO Bush will falter, because I think Trump primarily, and to some degree Cruz will make the entire GOP e look bad. I think some like Fiorina and Perry will get some blows in at the GOP e in the jayvee game debate.

And if the GOP e goes elsewhere, I think it will be Walker over Kasich- with the idea that Walker has some appeal to the base and is “acceptable” by the estabs.

Just a theory. We’ll see how it plays out.

I agree with you about Walker being a tolerable fallback position for the GOP-E . We definitely agree there. The blueblooded establishment, though, seems taken with Kasich’s embrace of social programs. I’ve been in the same smallish room with the man 2 or 3 times in the last 4 years, he’s no dummy, and he’s good on his feet.

By all means!

Let’s hold a completely different kind of candidate to the standards we’ve always used to judge professional pols, then castigate anyone who doesn’t think those standards apply!
