Otherwise known as a "commanding tone." Proven by the cop's response to the taper's refusal.
Watch the video again, the officer never raises his voice and speaks in a calm, firm, professional manner throughout the encounter.
YOU watch the video again! The officer takes a well known attack posture, immediately!
The only one speaking in an agitated, agressive manner is the taper.
Because the cop is preparing to shoot him!
That the taper has more nad than you or the cop is immaterial to whether he was being given a lawful order.
If the cop was “preparing to shoot him”, it was because he was refusing to remove his hand from his pocket and thereby actinf in a threatening manner. If the idiot showed his hand so the officer didn’t have to worry about him drawing a gun and killing him, any thoughts the cop had that he might be forced to shoot would have gone away.
Legally, the officer could have given him a firmer command and if he continued to refuse to show his hand, he could have aimed his gun at him and if he continued to to refuse, he could have shot him.
The officer used a fairly low level of force and did not escalate the situation despite the idiot’s dangerous behavior.
The law, common courtesy and common sense all say that if a cop wants to see your hands you show them, period. If you think the initial encounter was unjustified, file a complaint or lawsuit. Deviate from this legal requirement and wise behavior at your own risk.
The cop made several trips around the cul de sac if you listen to the guy. I would have to be wondering myself what is up with this guy, cop or otherwise. Then he pointed his finger like a gun at the guy while he was still in the car and took his picture. He not only pulled his gun but advanced on the guy, so much for the BS he was in fear for his life. He made no attempt at cover in the least. He was grey haired, he wasn’t a rookie. It in fact looked like he was going to execute the guy. This POS needs to be in prison where he belongs after seeing a shrink, or thrown off the force for being stupid with a gun if he passed that. There was no call to pull his gun period, this very much was an attack posture.
