As holidays go, King Salman of Saudi Arabia has probably enjoyed more harmonious breaks than the eight days he's just spent on the French Riviera. His Royal Highness had intended to enjoy three weeks of Mediterranean sun, sea and sand, but he cut short his sojourn after enraging the locals.

As if there is not enough sun, sea, sand and money in Saudi Arabia he has to go mooch off of the French. :-)

I worked for years at a well known hospital which routinely had members of Saudi royalty as patients.Although I never personally interacted with them (I worked in the ER) I often saw Middle Eastern types in the hallways *and* heard *many* stories from the junior doctors (residents) who were assigned to "babysit" them...meaning to fulfill their every whim.
Among other things...they had *many* whims and expected them to be carried out immediately. If ya catch my drift!

Really. Look at our poor king. He has that pesky office job that gets in the way of his “daily” golf game.

Same here. If I had to live in a 120 degree cat box all the time I’d probably be pretty militant as well.
The ME is a cesspool culturally and topographically.

75 years ago, nomads like Sal were living in tents, screwing livestock and wiping his butt with his hand, and cleaning his hands in sand.

Some of his relatives probably still do just that.
God told Hagar that He would make a great nation of her Ishmael’s seed.... He just didn’t mention how bad their conditions would be. And... so God gave us all Arabs because Abraham and Sarah got impatient.
