Move to remove Boehner grows and may have the votes

If you, as will most people, just glance at the Elite Media's reporting of Rep. Mark Meadows move to oust John Boehner as Speaker you probably think he is a delusional nutcase and that the move has no chance of passing. Well, think again.

Breitbart.com reports that the reason the Meadows' resolution was not put on the floor for a vote was simply because they were not sure they had the votes to defeat it, meaning that they were afraid the resolution had enough votes to remove Boehner and declare the Speakership vacant. So they recessed for the summer.

Here's how Brietbart.com reported it: House Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) had been planning to call up on the House floor last week a measure from Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) that would have removed him as Speaker of the House if it succeeded—intending to embarrass Meadows—but abandoned the plan after his entire leadership structure learned that they did not have the votes to re-elect him as Speaker before the August recess.

"[House Majority Leader Kevin] McCarthy was making phone calls—he was whipping it—and so was [House Majority Whip]

" a senior conservative movement leader who's had many personal and direct discussions with various House GOP members about this told Breitbart News in an interview last week.

“Having the votes to remove him is one thing. Having the votes to replace him with anyone who is any better is something else again.”

You’re right. Therein is the problem. I don’t know that much would be gained by swapping Boehner for someone like McCarthy or even Scalise.

Now if the Orange One was replaced by someone like Gohmert ....

Their likely move would be to replace him with McCarthy or some other RINO hack.

Having the votes to replace him with anyone who is any better is something else again.

Taking a RINO scalp off of Boehner would at least provide some real incentive for whoever comes next to try to throw some red meat to the conservatives every once in a while instead of insulting them and thwarting their every move.

I heard a report that said just the opposite, that Meadows could have called for a prompt vote (it would be required within two working days of the House, something like that) but he knew he didn't have the votes and so brought it up as a "resolution" for future consideration.

So neither side knows what will happen if it actually comes to a vote. Mexican standoff!

Agreed, but I would love to see Boner have to retain his position with democrat votes. Maybe this would wake up more of the low information Republican voters as to the corruption of their GOPE approved crooks.
