This is all part of the de-growth movement...to weaken the west. More climate fascism. F the warmers and their junk weather science. Tell every one of them to shove it. I’m serious...they need push back, starting with Obama.
A modern industrial nation eventually reaches the point where its capacity to produce things exceeds its ability to consume them. In effect, there simply aren't enough customers to buy all the useless sh!t we produce anymore.
The end result is that corporations pressure governments to impose silly, pointless mandates that have no real purpose other than to force demand for new products and services into the system. That's really all there is to it. If cars that get 500 miles per gallon of fuel become commonplace, there will be a new government mandate to make it 600 -- guaranteed. If someone comes up with a method of producing energy that is completely non-polluting and produces zero carbon, there will soon be a government mandate for energy production with negative carbon production.
This is what happens when empires die.
