WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) tonight issued the following statement after S.1881, a bill to prohibit federal funding of Planned Parenthood, failed to reach the 60-vote threshold required for cloture:
"Last week, the Senate had an opportunity to stop the unconscionable use of taxpayer funds to murder unborn children. Instead, Republican leadership blocked a recorded vote on amendments to defund Planned Parenthood.
"Although the effort to reach cloture on a standalone bill failed tonight, this should not deter us in the fight to eliminate taxpayers' funds being used to bankroll the abortion industry and what appears to be the ongoing criminal organization of Planned Parenthood.
"I encourage my colleagues to continue to fight to defund this organization that places more value on the sale price of babies' body parts than it does on the sanctity of human life. We should not rest until we have done everything in our power to protect the life of unborn children. Ensuring no additional federal dollars go to the abortion industry or Planned Parenthood is a good place to start. This is why it is critical that we stand together to insist that not another dollar of our hard-earned money goes to a group profiting from the buying and selling of the body parts of babies."

First thing you should do as a Senate is get rid of McConnell.....
Cruz had it right last week. Make it an amendment attached to an important boondoggle bill. I hate boondoggle bills, but at least make the bastards sweat over losing their graft.
We could have done that in November. But some Freepers chose to attack anyone trying to ditch him and in so doing, assisted liberals in Mitch’s ongoing efforts to part out children.
We have the duty to protect the life
of the unborn child. - PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN

Wow....that worked today there Cruz didn’t it? Oh I wish he would just pass something that his Senators would vote for. For some reason the Senators don’t take him seriously no matter how much he talks. I feel sorry for him. He does talk well but absolutely no results. Poor guy.
Well he has all that lesser evil ‘we’ sent there that was sooooo much better than a democrat to fight against. Just as predicted. 100%
And people refused to believe. Because they knew better.
Because feet were gonna be held to the fire!
And it ain't the people who stood against Planned Butcherhood.
You are simply too stupid for words.
Nappy is a child. It’s time for his pudding cup and off to bed.
Well obviously people that stood against PP hate America and Love Obama!
Well he has all that lesser evil we sent there
Well a real leader would be inspiring and convincing. We have had Democrats and RINOS forever.....never hindered Reagan. Cruz would not be any different as president then Senator. I guess he could speak everyday like he does now but if he can’t get Senators to vote for his bills, what use is it? He has spoken to the Senator numerous times and they ignore him because for whatever reason they don’t respect him. We can’t afford to have a President that is not respected by the Senate and House as a Republican. Reagan was able to get what he wanted because the Senate and House respected Reagan.
Stupid.
But feet and fire! And stuff! ;)
The LAST thing I want is a president respected by the other 2 branches. I want one FEARED and HATED.
I agree.....Cruz does waste a ton of time and is stupid in doing so. Hopefully he will change and get something done.....anything. It is getting embarrassing that he seems to not be able to get anything through the Senate.
Well then Cruz will be a guy who will have to use Executive Action for his term. Wow....who else does that? Oh the first term Senator President we have now....I guess it wouldn’t make much difference with Cruz doing it too.
I guess people are right about you.
You might wanna brush up on Ronnie’s 2 terms with Tip and co..
