Today, the nuclear risk is growing. A massive nuclear exchange is less likely, but a nuclear attack is more likely. The Iran agreement is an example of diplomacy and leadership overcoming extremely difficult challenges. Despite a deficit of trust and confidence, negotiators from multiple countries were able to forge an agreement that—as our co-founder and CEO Senator Sam Nunn said recently—will make it “extremely difficult” for Iran to develop a bomb in the next 10-to-15 years. The consequences of rejecting the hard-fought deal, he said, would be “very severe.”

On this anniversary, we can demonstrate that decades later, the world can get beyond heated rhetoric. We can listen to the experts who agree that the Iran deal is the best means we have today for preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.
