Is Iran accord tearing US Jewry apart?

The American Jewish community is so split over the Iranian nuclear deal that meetings of some Jewish organizations dealing with other Jewish communal issues are being cancelled because people don’t want to argue about the accord, Greg Rosenbaum, the chairman of the National Jewish Democratic Council, said Sunday.

Rosenbaum, speaking to a delegation of Israeli diplomatic journalists visiting the US, said that this is an issue that is threatening to tear apart the American Jewish community.

“We have passed the point of civil discussion, and now are almost at fratricide” over this issue, he said. ”I am not sure we can repair the rift.” Rosenbaum said that his long term worry was that American Jews will not be able to deal with communal issues because of disagreements over the Iranian accord. He said he knows that some Jewish organizations are not holding meetings on other issues “because they fear they are going to get into a discussion on Iran, that will then go haywire.”

Rosenbaum was joined on the panel from the other side of the political spectrum by Noah Pollak, the executive director of the Emergency Committee for Israel, and though they disagreed sharply on the merits of the accord, both agreed that it was likely that Congress would vote against the agreement after the 60-day review period, but then not be able to muster the votes to override a presidential veto that US President Barack Obama has pledged to use.

Unlike Rosenbaum, however, Pollak said there would be practical significance to Congress voting against the accord, even if it cannot then override a veto. “This would de-legitimize the deal,” Pollak said, making it a “wounded animal.” This, he said, would then make it that much easier for the next president to come into power and roll back the

Gee.

depends if the “Jews” are just socially liberal, socialist-communists determined to follow their democratic party no matter what happens to the ,millions of Jews in Israel that will be burned alive in a nuclear bomb; or if they actually are “Jews” that follow a God.

Any God.

My guess is most liberal Jews are just as stupid if not more so then non-Jewish liberals. Socialism marched them in to the ovens, so what do they do, support it here.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz is the head of the Democratic Party and she's Jewish. What is she doing to herself?

RE: “And American Jews will still vote 75%+ for democrats no what democrats do to them”.

I don’t know how to put this delicately -
For such a small segment of the world’s population (12M), so many educated successful Jewish people ought to know better, than to hold such naive pacifist beliefs that can only be characterized as a suicidal threat of their very ethnic existence.

and yet I see so many if them acting like he's done no wrong in the last 7 years and support so many things that go against the will of God on Facebook. I think I understand precisely why God allowed them to be enslaved and killed en masse so many times when I read their posts. All of the ones I see are very wealthy and remain unaffected by his reach so far. They support homosexuality, disarmament, abortion, Obamacare, regulatory overreach, etc...you name it and they support it. I just don't get them.

“And American Jews will still vote 75%+ for democrats no what democrats do to them”

As an American Jew myself who will NEVER vote for a democrat (not intentionally anyway, what actually happens to my vote after I cast it is another story) I have a theory about this. My theory is based on what I have seen my fellow Jewish people do in their own lives and this includes people in my own family. They tend to be consumed with guilt. When they know that someone hates them or wants to harm them, instead of preparing to defend themselves or even just walk away they take on this attitude of “What have I done to make you hate me and what can I do to change your mind?” The answer is nothing, if someone wants to hurt you they are going to continue to want to hurt you. Standing there and taking a beating while you try to make them love you doesn’t work. It’s true in politics, in being in the wrong neighborhood and acting like everything is OK because you want to “be friends” with the people who are ready to pounce on you, etc. It never works, but they keep on trying, and the results are generally awful. Just my two cents based on what I have seen over the course of my life.

There are pivotal periods in Jewish history where those living outside of Israel “tear themselves apart” from ambivilancy and lack of a solid Jewish base as opposed to their brothers & sisters in Israel who live in a very different reality, Jewish reality.
Israeli Jews are not, “tearing themselves apart” there is a consensus there, an accurate one, that the Iran deal is identical to the 1938 Munich agreement - only worse!

The Obama administration claimed they would “put light” between Israel and America early on in his administration. Well, he did that and tossed Israel (and other allies) under the bus. Netanyahu has every right to openly oppose a deal that endangers Israel. Netanyahu does not have the Obamian “What Me Worry”? approach.

American Jews on arguing the pros & cons of the deal because many of them suffer from Terminal Leftist Liberalism and they are trying to balance their support for the worst President in US history as opposed to their minimal feelings and confusion for Israel. Only an insecure, confused and “Galut” “exile” Jewish mentality would be confused about the Iran Deal.

The American Jewish community “tore itself apart” in 1973 during the Yom Kippur War.

The American Jewish community “tore itself apart” during the 1978 “Litani Operation” into southern Lebanon.

The American Jewish community “tore itself apart” during the 1981 raid on Iraq's OSIRAK facility.

The American Jewish community “tore itself apart” during the 1982 Peace for the Galilee Operation in Southern Lebanon.

The American Jewish community “tore itself apart” during the 1986 Pollard Affair.

The American Jewish community “tore itself apart” during the 1991 Gulf War I when Israel was being bombed.

The American Jewish community “tore itself apart” during the Intifada I (1987)and II (1996-2002).

The American Jewish community “tore itself apart” during the various Operations against a collapsing Oslo Agreement.

The American Jewish community “tore itself apart” during the “Cast Lead”, “2nd Lebanon” war and more recent “Protective Edge” campaign in Gaza.

In short, the American Jewish community is always gnashing it's teeth trying to be “good” Liberal Jews while their brothers & sisters in Israel fight for their lives.

They want to love Israel and they want to rebuke her. So, let them go on gnashing their teeth and being confused while their Israeli brethren face reality...

There should be little confusion and little debate - this deal is the end of American Hegemony in the world and if Israel does not act, maybe the end of the Jews...

“and yet I see so many if them acting like he’s done no wrong in the last 7 years”

But that is what they do in the Democratic party. No matter the level of stupidity or evil, (mostly) secular Jews in the U.S. feel that if they just play along, no one will notice they are Jews, or attack them because of their religion or birth. It is not far different that what happened in communist Russia. Germany is far different as, Hitler made it quite clear what he would do as he came to power:

“The Jews of Germany and Europe: why didn’t they leave in time?”

http://neoneocon.com/2013/10/04/the-jews-of-germany-and-europe-why-didnt-they-leave-in-time/

But-

When the Jews of secular countries are faced with uncomfortable truths about the formely comfortable place they held in a particular country, the level of denial contimues almost up to the moment they run for their lives. France is a very good example as Jewish fear is greater and Jews have left in droves for America and Israel.

” All of the ones I see are very wealthy and remain unaffected by his reach so far. “

But that is the false image. The majority of Jews in the U.S. are not rich at all, but the ones who are have an nasty habit of often using their wealth to support whatever causes are in vogue with their masters in the Democratic party. Somehow if they act more Democrat and progressive than a progressive non-Jew, they will be accepted and all will be well. In the end, they are merely tools and face the ugly truth that they purchased nothing with their wealth and have given up what little freedom it might have bought if they and listened to the voices of history.

It is sad, but it is the truth IMHO.

If Israel is ever attacked by Iran because of Obama’s recklessness or evil intent, it will be on the hands of the American Jews that supported obama.

They can pretend that they didn’t know that obama would be bad news for Israel but they knew. It just wasn’t that important to them. They didn’t want to inconvenience themselves.

If Israel is attacked by Iran because of Obama and Kerry’s dealings, the Jews that supported them should feel great shame.

It is making clear the stark split between Jews who don’t really believe and those who do.

Those who claim to be Jews but don’t believe really should read the Torah to see what is in store for them.

/A Christian who believes Christ did not abrogate the Torah, He validated and fulfilled it.

Then again, I’m in Texas and don’t consider any libscum Obama supporter worthy of the term “friend.”

It’s making Jews fear for USA and Israel. It’s delighting the JSS type of Jews” who always support death to both — obama’s supporters who still ( unfortunately) retain Jewish- sounding names. ( Oh that they could only have changed them!!)
