The recent release of undercover videos that appear to show Planned Parenthood executives engaging in the sale of aborted body parts has put the Jeb Bush Presidential campaign on the defensive.
Before becoming a GOP candidate Bush was serving as a director of Bloomberg Philanthropies, former New York City mayor Michael Bloombergs non-profit, in March 2014 when it announced a $50 million partnership with Planned Parenthood in Africa.
At issue is whether Bush was aware of the initiative and if he exercised his fiduciary responsibility as one of Bloomberg Philanthropies directors to provide advice and oversight to the foundations management team prior to the decision to spend $50 million on the program.

Release the minutes from the board meeting!
Bloomberg Philanthropies:
Bloomberg and his money is directly responsible for murdering babies. ALSO, he orchestrated and funded the 2012 assault on the second amendment that created bad legislation in Colorado, NY, Connecticut, Maryland, and other states. What was Jeb’s role in all of that?
When my fellow conservatives hold their nose and vote for Bush “because he’s better than Hillary/Sanders,” they will no longer be allowed to call themselves conservatives. They will be fundamentally non-conservative, leftist’s useful idiots.
I don’t think being unaware is a defense.
If so, it shows his board position was influence peddling.
Who could require that those minutes are released. ?
If Yeb is innocent he should ask for their release!
Are agendas of meetings published before mewright? Minutes filed in a public forum?

Underscoring his desire to work with both parties, Mr. Bloomberg is bringing on a new advisory board with prominent Republican and Democratic figures. Tom Ridge, the former Pennsylvania governor and Homeland Security secretary under President George W. Bush; Eli Broad, the philanthropist; Warren Buffett, the investor; and Michael G. Mullen, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under both Mr. Bush and President Obama, will all be board members.
Youve got to work at it piece by piece, he added. One mom and another mom. Youve got to wear them down until they finally say, Enough.
Thats the problem: both parties are on the same side as Planned Parenthood. Both gerry Ford and Nelson Rockefeller were big pro-choicepeople. Not until 1981 did the Pro-life people get a President who was on their side. By that time. the Democratic Party was mostly pro-choice. Today, there are almost no pro-life Democrats in Congress. As for the Pubbies, McConnell has always been pro-choice.
And people think you’re crazy when you say oligarchs run the country.
Bush helped spend $50 million to kill black babies in Africa!!
Jeb was also neck deep with Lehman bros in 2008
Jebra...
...it’s over. Enjoy your retirement, never to be heard from again.
I know I will.
I’ve been in board rooms and it might be possible Jeb could have been in this role and not known about one particular donation. Especially if it was in process before he joined. Also, for guys like this, 50 mil is not that much money. The PP donation might have been buried in a larger proposal with many firms listed, and previously vetted, and shoved thru in a 1-minute vote and discussion. Not excusing him, just saying I’ve seen that happen. BUT...
It is a worry that Jeb joined this Bloomberg Foundation to begin with - it’s known for being lefty, promoting social engineering, and all that. In 2 areas Jeb should have had his antennae out and asked specific questions all along:
One, as a conservative, Jeb should have asked what are the true goals of Bloomberg? What is the slant or purpose?
Two, as a Christian (and convert to the Catholic faith), Jeb should have asked what is this organizations stance toward abortion and other “death” causes?
Don’t we all ask that nowadays, in our homes and with our families, just giving our little $10 donations when we get solicited in the mail!? Jeb should have at the minimum been as conscientious as any other Christian American when getting involved with a “philanthropy” that can throw around $50 million on almost a whim.
Agree with what some of you are saying, but $50 million donation is a lot of money. It’s about 10% of what the foundation distributes in a year. It was not buried in stack of other proposals.
Oh, wow, 10 percent of their budget. Oh yes, you are right. That would merit careful discussion.
If Jeb were not part of that decision (or of shaping the Bloomberg giving ideology), then I would imagine he would waste no time saying so. His silence is disturbing, unless he is assembling some documents or such to establish his non-involvement...?
