From the very beginning of the 2016 presidential primary process Ive maintained a few things:
1) We were going to support a candidate earlier this time around, because I believe if we dont coalesce as a movement we make it easier for the GOP establishment to divide and conquer us. As proven by the past two primary cycles in 2008 and 2012. And theres just too much at stake to wait for the future of the country so I can build drama and tension into a radio show for the purpose of milking it so to speak. The time I could spend insulting your intelligence by pretending to be objective, like some others do, is time we could be working for a righteous cause.
2) We would support the candidate that had the broadest potential conservative appeal, which would make that coalescing more possible.
3) We would be as transparent during that evaluation as possible, while obviously respecting confidences and the like obviously.
This week I am on vacation with the family, and I will be spending some of that time discussing this with my wife. We always strive to make major decisions with one mind, and make no mistake. Endorsing a candidate is a major decision. Not just from a credibility standpoint, but as the show has grown so has our relationships. And we have many friends working for various candidates. Yet we can only support one at a time.
Amy and I have narrowed the field to the following four candidates. Thats not to slight all the other candidates. Some candidates one of us liked more than the other (no names mentioned). And then several like Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, etc. we have already eliminated. But we are of one mind that we would be more than fine supporting the following four candidates (in alphabetical order):
Ted Cruz We see him as a fearless champion.
Mike Huckabee We believe him to be the best communicator, which is a skill we put a premium on.
Bobby Jindal We like his combination of moral clarity, intellect, and executive experience.
Scott Walker We believe his actual policy record is unparalleled in the field (though we dont know him as well as the others).
Sometime in August when Amy and I are confident the timing is right, we will make a decision to not just support a candidate but also do everything we can to help him be successful. Whatever that may be.
What is our endorsement worth? Who knows. Typically in life you dont have as much influence as youd like to think, and probably more than your detractors would prefer. Either way, given the fact this could very well be our last Iowa Caucus, our family has made the determination to not let the moment go to waste.
We encourage each of you to do the same, whether you end up agreeing with our decision or not. The future of the country depends on patriots like us getting off the sidelines and getting into the game.
My comment is that under no circumstance would I vote for a Huckabee or a Jindal.
As much as we'd like to determine early .... there are still some elements to factor in that have not materialized yet
But so far ... D Trump has the eye and ear of America.
Ignore Trump at your own peril...as the saying goes.
Not gonna click your link.
Trump. Cruz. Cruz or Trump. Trump and Cruz or Cruz and Trump.
(Trump, Trump, Trump: Just to frost your flakes.)
What’s with the royal We. The writer and his wife?
I’ve heard that this guy is a Huckster fanboy.
“Ted Cruz We see him as a fearless champion.
Mike Huckabee We believe him to be the best communicator, which is a skill we put a premium on. “
UPchucklebee a better communicator than Cruz ?
Uh....right.
no he’s not ... he’s been an early Ted Cruz supporter ...
Huckabee is a loser.
I agree...but many seem to like him
Huckabee=Maurice Clemmons=Never
It is interesting how he praised Huck. I think he supported him the last time.
Jindal is GREAT but not a player.
Steve Deace is a Rolly-Polly Iowa “Know-it_All” Hucklebee DRONE!
WRONG, DEACE is a Hucklkebee DRONE!
Ted Cruz REMAINS the only true Conservative in this race.
I love how Trump has lit the GOP-e, MSM and the dems on fire, but my trust, support and my vote stays with Cruz.
~~Cruz, OR LOSE~~
His mother was pregnant when she came to the United States to go to graduate school. It's true that the school arranged for her to get a green card instead of a student visa, but she was originally planning to come here just for an education.

Boo Huckabee. Just boo. Snake oil salesman. No thank you.
Others (especially Cruz!) are fine with me, though I think Jindal would be a hard sell in the top spot.
