Good morning everyone. I’ve got a good news #tbt story for today.
Some of you will remember back in 2004 I covered this story at Ft. Riley for the tv station about a little boy named Philip Shriver who was battling Leukemia and make-A-Wish had granted his wish to be a soldier for a day.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1229090/posts?page=40
There is an update to this story 11 years in the making that I wanted to share with everyone.
Philip Shriver, the 7 year old boy stricken with Leukemia in 2004...is now a very healthy and cancer free young man of 18 and still wanting to join the Army.
My own son was his age with I helped cover this story back in 2004 and it tore at my heart to the point that Ive checked in with the family from time to time to see how Philip was doing. Always afraid it would be bad news and always relieved when it wasnt.
Ive made contact with him again on FB and it really warms my heart to know that hes doing fine and cancer free.
Thought yall would like to know too.
Have a great Thursday morning everyone!
