He is a wealthy ACTIVE business person doing business in liberal cities withe liberal boards and government. You have to pay to play or have no contracts or pull getting your building permits passed.
Yes. I posted it purposefully.
Apparently that is the best that Trump’s vaunted lawyers could attach to the book.
And to me that is revealing.
How many drafts were sent back and forth until that was the best they could get?
IMO the story isn’t about the alleged rape, which in her own words wasnt technically so... but the true story here is the disgusting statement by Trumps lawyers that a wife cant be raped by her husband in the first place.
I worked for a utility. Eminent domain hurts business big time. I can see both side of the issue. I stand with the little guy, but like I said, I see both sides of the issue.
Donald Trump and Eminent Domain ".....That brings us to the story of the aforementioned elderly widow in Atlantic City, which starts at about the same time. The woman, Vera Coking, had owned property near the Trump Plaza Hotel for three decades, and didnt want to move. Trump thought the land was better suited for use as a park, a parking lot, and a waiting area for limousines.
He tried to negotiate, at one point offering Coking $1 million for the land. But she wasnt budging. So New Jerseys Casino Reinvestment Development Authority filed a lawsuit, instructing Coking to leave within 90 days and offering compensation of only $251,000.
Perhaps the only upside to this story is that in neither case did Trump succeed. The Bridgeport plan fizzled. Coking fought in court, and in part because these were the days before Kelo was decided, no doubt she was lucky enough to win. In 1998, a judge threw out the case.
In 2005, however, Trump was delighted to find that the Supreme Court had okayed the brand of government-abetted theft that hed twice attempted. I happen to agree with it 100 percent, he told Fox Newss Neil Cavuto of the Kelo decision.
Can Republicans support someone with so little regard for the property of others? Lets hope not."
Maybe you should go back and read what Ivana actually said and what she meant.
As for the statute of limitations, go tell that to the Clinton people.
I don’t know, you tell me. Then tell me in your heart of hearts, do you truly believe a man cannot rape his wife simply because she is his wife?
He PAYS for what he wants, so are you calling his ex wife a prostitute now.
Wasn’t there some sort of rape accusation against Reagan back in the day?
“Ps, these rumors of his behavior were out there all over with Cosby for decades, even with Bill Clinton. You dont have that with Trump.”
Good point.
OK. Yes you can rape your wife, the fact that you are wed does not change the meaning of no in regard to sex. I dont believe Trump did this but his lawyer is flat out wrong. You know who else thinks that its impossible to rape a wife? MUSLIMS!
Where did you see that?
I said Trump takes what he wants - evidence: eminent domain.
Interesting swerve you took away from the point I was making, so that you could use "Ivana" and "prostitute" in a sentence.
So, in your heart of hearts, do you think a woman may lie about rape? Especially in divorce proceedings?
Trump is being Axelroded.
Actually there is a public interest in using a property for its highest and best use. Obvious her property was near a commercial area and cities all the time use eminent domain or something to take properties when it is needed.
Best example of this would be homes taken to expand a freeway.
Though we like people to in general use their property as they wish, in general it is common to pay and move people when it cost too much tax revenue on the floor by not acting.
Of course a woman can lie about rape! And I did say I think Trump is being railroaded.. OK, see we are on the same side here..
But, Trumps lawyer says that a husband cannot rape a wife, that is flat out wrong. I dont know why you’d be arguing in defense of such a statement. Its idiotic. I hope maybe we were just on two different pages and that you weren’t really arguing that a husband can’t, by definition, rape his wife.
Trump can’t execute eminent domain, that is a city and Judge deal weighing the highest and best use of a property. It’s easier to move someone then lose millions in potential tax revenue.
Depends on the situation, eminent domain is the because sometimes people want blackmail levels of payment to move which Is unreasonable.
Maybe, but that doesn’t change my assessment.
