I hope Trumps MSNBC interview doesnt surprise too many people: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took a softer stance [on] immigration during a television interview Friday, saying he believes in a merit system for undocumented immigrants already living in the U.S.
During Fridays interview, Trump said the U.S. should take a two-step approach to the 11 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the country. Wouldnt it be nice if there really were only 11 million? The actual number is probably at least three times that high and rocketing upward every moment. Meanwhile, we cant find even a loose cannon, ostensibly anti-establishment candidate who wants to enforce immigration law.

I’m beginning to hope that Trump will turn out to be too liberal (amnesty, abortion) and will collapse—but having demonstrated that Cruz can campaign full-bore AGAINST the alien invasion, etc.
But Trump is saying he’d legalize those who are here illegally. That if they’ll just go visit their family at home first, we will magically “expedite” their coming back legally and therefore they will then be following our laws and we will be a country of laws.
That’s disinformation goobledygook and Freepers are falling for it left and right.
Oh, and he also today reiterated his caving to Muslims trying to squelch our free speech:

Bingo, Trump has already made massive changes. Millions now will never look at politicians or American politics the same.
We flipped when we saw Trumps announcement speech. He said exactly what we have been feeling for 10+ years. Which is were being conned, sold out, robbed, and literally looted by professional criminal liars in nice suits.
Enough!
Trump is an outsider of the DC beltway clowns and not beholden to their money K street doners and the CoC. He’ll be a lot more effective on this than any of the other candidates.
Wrong! Trump is not for amnesty!
We must realize that if we are going to deport all illegals, which I believe must be done if we are to survive, there will be major violent unrest.<
I find it troubling that so many are dumping on the poster for linking to an interview in which Trump's own words are quoted.
I did not listen to the Hannity interview but I have heard him allude to amnesty before.
He just said you can’t ignore the law. Said he would send them back then expedite the process for the good ones to return BY THE LEGAL PROCESS.
Yep. It’s as if with his words he released a genie from the bottle.
And that genie is one unhappy camper!
There is not a professional politician running or for that matter in the entire city of D.C., I’d rather have as president over Trump.
No one comes close from my perspective.
I am pretty much at the point where it’s extremely difficult if not impossible for me to trust anyone with power over me or anyone else.
People will say or do anything for a chance to line their own pockets and feed at the trough.
I’d be okay with going forward without Washington DC at all, but I realize that is not likely going to happen.
Which is also what he said on MSNBC last Friday. And he also said there were probably more like 34 million illegals in the country. These attempts are getting old. Some may not be happy with Trump beating the rest of the field, but until one of the other GOPe candidates steps up and says what Trump has been saying (and means it) he’s the only one saying it.
“major violent unrest”
Keeping the eviction cart behind the border security horse, some might reply that violent unrest is already here.
Stop rewarding bad behavior and they would go home. But first things first.
This bogus article will be posted a couple dozen more times by posters who will also not be heard from again in the thread, so it’s officially tedious now.
Trump has made his bones on illegals. Come at Trumpasaurus Rex from some other direction.
It's 60 million.
Yep original poster did a drive by posting. Not a word from him.
Trump Suggests He May Be Open to Amnesty
The Weekly Standard

A reporter asked, “Mr. Trump, what would you do with the 11 million undocument immigrants who are already here?” “The first thing we have to do is strengthen our borders,” Trump started. The reporter interrupted, “But after that — after that.” “And after that we’re going to have plenty of time to talk about it,” Trump said, failing to answer the question and then hastily ending his press conference. “Thank you very much. Thank you everybody.”
drive by poster. never stuck around to defend, defuser, or anything.

If they are "undocumented", we don't have a head count.
The 10-12 million number has been batted around since Reagan's day.
(As if those here were not making more, and as if more were not coming in daily.)
By the legal process they wouldn’t be eligible to return legally—he’d be changing the law. That’s amnesty.
