The number of illegal immigrants in the United States totaled 11.3 million in 2014, outnumbering the 9.6 million Americans who were unemployed in the same year, according to data from Pew Research Center and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
An estimated 11.3 million unauthorized immigrants lived in the U.S. in 2014, says a Pew report. The new unauthorized immigrant total includes people who cross the border illegally as well as those who arrive with legal visas and remain in the U.S. after their visas expire.
Of those 11.3 illegal immigrants, 8.1 million are participating in the labor force. Unauthorized immigrants make up 5.1% of the U.S. labor force, Pew says. In the U.S. labor force, there were 8.1 million unauthorized immigrants either working or looking for work in 2012.
In 2014, there were 1.7 million more illegal immigrants living in the United States than there were unemployed Americans. According to the BLS, the average number of unemployed Americans in 2014 was 9.6 million. The BLS defines an unemployed individual as someone who did not have a job but actively sought one in the past four weeks.

This one-two punch was long in the making, deliberate and malicious is now beginning to come to fruition as the first of many legacies designed to rip his country apart from within and without from all across the varied social, economic, military perspectives, all becoming unhinged like Obama''s Perfect Storm.
11.3 million, my arse! Pluss, there are almost 100 million working aged Americans out of the force. Geez.
And it’s safe to say that the number is much greater than 1.3 million.
Sorry, meant 11.3 million.
Send the criminal invaders / illegals back home.
BTW : There are 102 Million Unemployed adults. Less than 63 percent of adults are employed.
> Sorry, meant 11.3 million.
Even much greater than that
Our elected representatives are representing citizens of other countries or their employers.
Worse yet, those citizens of other countries are in our country illegally.
The Democrats represent the illegal aliens.
The GOP represents the employers of illegal aliens.
No one is representing the citizens.
For the Republic to survive, the GOP must die.
GOP-RIP
It is a lot higher than 11.4 million, like several times higher
Just got back from a visit to my mother in north San Diego County. As near as I can tell, no one does his own yard workit is all done by people who speak little, if any English. Nice and polite and definitely hard-working, but I’ll bet the majority are not in the country legally. Same is true for all of the little fix-it jobs that are being done.
Here in Southeast Missouri, lawn service guys are all Americanoften semi retired. They usually hire older teenagers (probably above 18 to avoid liability problems) both black and white to do the mowing, edging etc.
The jobs being done by Mexicans in San Diego could be first or summer jobs for American kids, but those jobs aren’t open to them there.
“The number of illegal immigrants in the United States totaled 11.3 million in 2014,”..........
Exactly how does the gubmint know that number? My guess is there are a hell of a lot more than 11.3 million. The illegals come and go as they please without “punching the clock” or signing in so how the hell do we know when and where they are entering?
How does the government know how many illegals are here? There is no way. The 12-million estimate is bogus. Most every illegal would flee when approached by a census worker that asks whether they are a citizen or not. So how do they even have a wild-ass guess.
Happened to be in Sawtooth Forest in Idaho recently...driving up to hike...all of a sudden there’s about 20 Mexicans and a few forest svc I think supervisors..a van said “Farm Labor from Oregon”...They were using chainsaws to clean a lot of blowdown out..
I wondered aloud how many would be illegals...my hub said..oh they wouldnt do that...
