The 6th annual Charleston Pride Festival kicks off eight days of events from Saturday, July 25 to Saturday, August 1. Charleston's annual celebration of unity and equal rights among the LGBT community will feature eighteen events during the week, beginning with a roller derby bout in North Charleston and wrap up with a party in downtown Charleston.
The festival theme, “A Cause to Celebrate!" is in response to the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage earlier this year. Jim Obergefell, the leading plaintiff in the Supreme Court case will be the Celebrity Grand Marshall. Also in celebration of marriage equality, the festival will feature Charleston's first wedding showcase supporting LGBT weddings.
Charleston Mayor Joe Riley and Charleston County council declared July 25 to August 1 as "Charleston Pride Festival Week." Other highlights include a panel discussion on LGBTQ History, Pride Night with the Riverdogs, and the Charleston Pride Parade and Rally.

The judicial fiat is a Pyrrhic victory for the lawless “left”.
Hard to fathom that the Confederate flag is verboten by S.C. government, but such obscene public atrocities as this aren’t. The liberal mind is a glaring spectacle of galloping insanity.
Notice it started with a pride parade, 1 day.
Now it’s morphed to week-long pride festivals.
In San Francisco and elsewhere there now are numerous multi-day festivals throughout the year, because the lesbians and the leatherboys etc etc require their own separate festivals to spotlight their particular kink.
Charleston is known as The Holy City. Buildings in the downtown area are not allowed to be higher than the highest church steeple, yet they are celebrating perversion. America deserves God’s judgment.
It is nice the perverts announce these things so you can vacation somewhere else and spend your money somewhere else where you and your family will not be subjected to this nonsense.
Charleston has been full of faggies since the 17th Century.
