Found the perp’s truck in oakland, the Newark of the west.
My guess is the perp is not illegal per se, my bet is his ancestors came over in a slave ship.
That’s a reasoned assumption.
Probably had a mile long list of priors, and couldn’t risk being taken into custody.
I wonder if he thought the officer was working alone. Maybe he thought he’d kill him and just drive off.
