Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.
"I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so, he said. ... I don't bring God into that picture."
Trump said that while he hasn't asked God for forgiveness, he does participate in Holy Communion.
"When I drink my little wine - which is about the only wine I drink - and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed," he said. "I think in terms of 'lets go on and let's make it right.'"

i certainly meant:
Too sensitive? I take issue with people who are not catholic making fun of Catholics and who don’t bother to get informed
This I did mean:
Gang up on girls much?
saying you have no sense of humor is not an attack, it’s an accurate assessment.
What, you got something against black liberation theology?!
;-)
The topic that I was commenting on was NOT whether or not Trump’s profession is legit - nor did that have anything to do with the snarky comments you replied to me.
I didn’t comment on Trump’s sincerity or lack of it - nor will I.
I’m busy. What do you want?
Well, I don’t know about you, but I know my father would have bitten his tongue off before “joking” about dating me. But the Trump cult of personality has advanced to a point that some of his supporters will try to justify anything he says.
Cruz is my guy as well. But the only use I have for Trump is appreciation for his immigration remarks. I’m able to take him for what he’s worth without putting him on a pedestal and pretending he’s some kind of conservative icon.
Because he isn’t. He’s a liberal Democrat. Before conservatives lost their minds over him, we had the sense to judge a candidate on his record instead of whatever ear-tickling he engaged in on the campaign trail.
But enjoy it while it lasts. Tell yourself that anyone who doesn’t giggle over your hero’s remark about dating his daughter is “thin-skinned.” But I suspect you, as a “Kickass Conservative”, know better.
Stanne. You really didn’t play the girl card, did you?
Come on.
I’m not a girl
Presbyterians do not believe in transubstantiation. Presbyterians eat whatever kind of bread they feel like eating and grape juice to symbolize the last supper. They do not believe the grape juice and bread become Christ. The only person authorized to consecrate the host into the blood and body of Christ are properly apostolic ordained priests. This means Catholic and Orthodox priest and no one else. All others (protestants) lost their apostolic succession when Luther broke away from the Catholic Church.
That is where you and I truly differ I will not vote for a man that will not profess his faith.
Catholic here.
Trump does not lie. He is a Presbyterian, and so he is indeed simply “drinking his little wine and having his little cracker.”
Had he said this as a Catholic, with regards to the Holy Eucharist...THEN he would have a problem.
Not sure how his remark “locks up” the Catholic vote.
Regards,
“Well you must be in the minority of Catholics then. Most Catholics tossed away their principles a long time ago. Whether it’s divorce, birth control, abortion, no meat on Fridays, etc., etc., most Catholics show up in church on Sundays (if they show up at all) in shorts and sneakers and do what they damn well please the rest of the week, despite what the Vatican says”.
If you’re not a Catholic let me be the first to tell you you don’t know what in the world you’re talking about.
If you are a Catholic I have these words for you.
“All the world’s evil is due to lukewarm Catholics”.
Pope Pius V
“Im a Protestant, Im a Presbyterian. And you know Ive had a good relationship with the church over the years. I think religion is a wonderful thing. I think my religion is a wonderful religion.
I’ve never met a Christian who talked like that.
Apostolic succession is not necessary to be a priest/pastor or to consecrate the elements. In fact the Bible talks about the priesthood of all believers. I didn’t read about apostolic succession anywhere in my Bible
And believe it or not I know many Protestants of several different denominations including my lutheran one that acknowledge the real presence of Christ in His supper. We just dont worship the elements or believe that Christ is sacrificed again on the altar with every celebration.
Only the assigned of the magic mystery religions can order God around and put Him on their altars..
“All the worlds evil is due to lukewarm Catholics. Pope Pius V ... um, lukewarm catholics are not satan, just human beings. Satan is the source of evil.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
Edmund Burke
Actually that miracle that occurred at Christ’s last flesh breath gave direct access to the Heavenly Father through Christ to any who believe. The ‘veil’ that the hid the priests work was rent from the top to the bottom, giving free access to all believers. Transubstantiation notion came along long time later.
Agree with that fer shur.
