So, how's this going to affect property values and school test scores?

So gov’t is going to take my money, ruin my property value and provide for someone who couldn’t afford to live next door to me to do so?

Any GOP candidate who is smart enough to latch on to this travesty and makes it a big issue in the campaign, will win in a landslide, IMO.

So let’s see, this was ‘study’ spearheaded by a guy named Castro - who used to be our mayor. During his time as mayor he:

-Fought hard to have 281 North on the north side become a toll road because, “the people on that side of town can afford to pay tolls.”

- insisted that all expansion of public transportation be on the South and West side because, “all the people on the North side can afford cars.”

And now he releases a series of maps, including one of San Antonio, that shows all the poor people living on the South side, and all the rich people living on the North side. And he is shocked, shocked I tell you. It must be racism.

Nothing at all to do with idiot politicians like him making it all but impossible for poor people to live anywhere except where morons like him want them to. But wait - I have an idea. Let’s give billions to idiot liberal politicians so they can fix the mess they created.

Yea, that should work!

Push hard enough, and people like me won’t be above fleeing the country.

Upper class white neighborhoods will refuse the money... Micheal Moore, Bill and Hillary and all of Hollywood are ‘safe’.

This law will be used against the middle class..

And crime in the hood.

I’m watching this unfold in formerly conservative Spokane. The idiots on the City Council declared this a sanctuary city a year ago. Before that, I already had three run-ins with Hispanic gang members in my “lovely” area, one who attempted murder an hour later — a block away from my apt.

Last weekend, a friend pointed out new apartments in my area for “low income” subsidized renters. I can only imagine who will move in. Some genuinely nice but poor people, but others…? I wouldn’t be surprised to see it fill up with formerly illegal aliens. Plus, we are, I’m told, having a spike in Arabic immigrants.

Need to get to self-defense-for-women classes at the gym posthaste. (Fellow teaching is a black former Marine that I utterly and absolutely trust and admire. ) And closest gun club has wonderful classes too….long waiting list. My friend on the Symphony board goes there.

Are they going to monitor poor black neighborhoods and force whites to move there?

Soon you will have to be thinking about your daughter playing in the yard, and whether some chimpanzee is going to give in to its animal instincts.

This is 0bama’s biggest and worst legacy: one that shows how much and how deeply he hates this country.

It is all to destroy unity. Divide and Conquer (Alinsky—Marxism). (Group people to create hate (Sex Ed and multiculturalism in schools/diversity training-—it only creates self-hate and hate of others, because children are immature by nature, and have the ability to truly love the “Self” (Same) . Normal formation in latency is for boys to prefer boys and girls to prefer girls-—so they can love self-—THEN at puberty, they have the ability to love the “Other”-—if there is mystery (dignity), wonder, etc. (Romance and true love (selflessness) is Christian ethics).

You have to be mature to truly “love the Other” (true diversity). That maturity is learned and habituated. AND the Other has to be virtuous. Without Virtue, there is no civil society—no Freedom possible—no associations, etc. Culture collapses and government can easily take over.

It is evil people, people of no Virtue, who they move into these cities-—to collapse civil society.

Tocqueville stated that the power in the USA was in individuals in small towns and bigger cities who VOLUNTARILY form associations and “groups” which make them powerful.—like the garden club, the Lion’s Club-—etc. You practice leadership and camaraderie and form deep friendships-—people need others for the ability to fight government. It is costly and emotionally taxing.

Destroy the communities by forcing in people who have no Virtue and you collapse that area......and make everyone stay locked in their place and fearful who can’t do anything about an intrusive government when they come in and take your guns,, etc.

And if Obama is really serious, he needs to send a lot of the blacks in the south up to a lot of those more liberal northern states. Many of them in those states pretend to know everything but they may need to start seeing things differently. Why should Obama's policies only impact the south? some_text By the way, congress could uphold funding but I don't have any confidence in the GOPe.

They can start in the Hamptons. Until they start handing out section 8 vouchers amongst the rich and famous, I don’t want to hear about it.

How a Seattle Plan to End Single-Family Zoning Could Change Affordable Housing
Some of the proposed tools are untested, some are best practices. Together, they would set the city on the progressive edge.
• Kriston Capps
• @kristoncapps
• Jul 13, 2015
• The 28-member committee—planners, business owners, architects, advocates, and other people in housing, right down to the tenants—even fingers how race and class discrimination have guided the history of single-family zoning. This is the purpose of single-family housing: to keep poor people and people of color out of white, wealthy neighborhoods by erecting high barriers to entry. The Seattle committee recommends that the city take those barriers down by replacing “single-family zones” with “low-density residential zones” and upzoning practically everywhere else.
• That is a solution that is so clear and sensible that it’s dangerous.
• The formal proposal released by Mayor Murray today is lighter on theory and details, but it gives a broader account of the mayor’s plans for affordable housing. Seattle can build or preserve 50,000 new units of housing over the next decade, with almost half (20,000 units) designated affordable.
• That’s a reasonable goal. But it’s clear from the mayor’s proposal that he isn’t merely looking to expand affordable housing. Mayor Murray and his City Council allies want to build fairly. Seattle could get housing that is fundamentally just, and that’s something we haven’t seen in any city anywhere.
• Use property taxes to promote affordable housing
• Mayor Murray proposes to double Seattle’s housing levy—to $290 million—in order to build affordable housing. He also proposes a 0.25 percent tax on real-estate transfers in the hopes of capturing some of the value from rising land prices and redirecting it toward affordable housing. The mayor also calls for an expansion of the multifamily property tax exemption.
• Reform parking and preservation requirements
• Historic review and design review are important tools for protecting the culture and texture of a city, but yeesh, these tools can be a NIMBY’s deadliest weapon. Seattle’s already done the hard work of eliminating parking minimums from its urban centers and urban villages, so the mayor’s goal is to remove parking requirements beyond these areas.
