Donald Trump appears to have gotten under the skin of not only Democrats, but also fellow Republicans and the news media. Has that subjected Trump, a Republican presidential candidate, to unfair and/or inaccurate reporting?
An article in the Washington Post today is headlined, Trump slams McCain for being captured in Vietnam.
The articles lead sentence states, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump slammed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a decorated Vietnam War veteran, on Saturday by saying McCain was not a war hero because he was captured by the North Vietnamese [emphasis added].
Is this report accurate?
In fact, Trumps actual quote is the opposite of what is presented in the Posts first sentence.

WE say worse stuff about McStain on FR than Trump did. LOL!
He is on the attack and they don't like it.
Fetus body parts sold like meat
We get rolled in the Iran Nuke Deal
And the MSM jumps on this for a smoke screen
Plus they had to get rid of the guy who wants to close the border. They must be really patting each other on the backs now. And now Jeb moves into first place....fancy that. /s
I watched the actual video clip...I am not offended at all by what Trump said...
There's the context right there...McCain is not a hero because he was captured; because they are ALL heros, captured or not...
Fox News Sunday played the clip of what Trump said. I was surprised that it did not nearly approach the disrespect that the firestorm made it out to be. Trump stated that McCain was a hero, a hero because he was captured. Instead of analyzing what Trump actually said, the panel launched into a Trump bashing based on the RINO exaggerations.
The MSM credibility is the strategic goal, every day they turn themselves into clickbait clowns. Soon even quoting them will be instant disqualification.
I don’t really care if he said anything bad about McCain, I can’t hear enough bad about “Hobbits” McCain and can’t wait until he’s retired.
Of course they did. They are no better than the other media when it comes to wanting Trump out of the race.
I am a Cruz supporter but I would vote for Trump over any of the others. They are the only two that are willing to speak the truth.
Romans 1:..
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Proverbs 6:16-19
haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
Well a couple of things here. I was in the USAF from 71-75, not a hero just another guy, we shouldn’t dilute the term hero. I knew some hero’s very special.
Trump screwed up his response. He should have passed on the service issue and focused on McCain calling his constituents suffering the effects of illegal aliens ‘crazies’ that statement is breathtaking in it’s arrogance.
Had Trump focused on McCain attacking Arizonans rather than Juan’s military service it would have neutered media attacks, instead he inflicted a wound on himself.
Trump’s strength is his weakness, he shoots from the hip and is prone to gaffes as well as highlighting issues like illegals.
“And the MSM jumps on this for a smoke screen.”
Exactly. And Trump should state as much. Hopefully he will.
That’s the truth. And the MSM do everything they can to distance themselves from it.
Trump donated to Hillary Clinton and John Kerry. That's an automatic disqualify for me. No excuses.
Trump talks conservative now. Cruz acts conservative.
I watched the interview. He started out by saying he liked McCain, raised $1 million for him, but liked him less after he lost. Trump said he didnt like losers. The audience snickered. Then when asked about McCain being a war hero, he said he was only one because he was captured. Or something like that. His next statement was the one to make vets mad, saying he didnt like those that were captured. Too much like the statement about not liking losers, IMO. He just carried the same idea of being amusing too far.
I agree
Trump is no Dan Quayle and knows what he’s saying.
Let us not forget algore.....
