"The Freedom Index: A Congressional Scorecard Based on the U.S. Constitution" rates congressmen based on their adherence to constitutional principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, national sovereignty, and a traditional foreign policy of avoiding foreign entanglements. The percentages below are cumulative scores based on key votes from 1999 through June 2015. Click on a senator's or representative's name to get a detailed breakdown of his or her voting record.

These results clearly indicate that this nation will never extricate itself from the mire that these supposed representatives for the people continue to expand.

I encourage all FReepers to examine their Senate and House representatives's record and contact them.

I might add that ratings for just the Congressional year of 2014 only indicate that only one Representative scored a perfect 100 percent: Thomas Massey of Kentucky, while four Senators did the same: Senators Shelby and Sessions of Alabama, Senator Paul of Kentucky, and Senator Lee of Utah.

What a sad reflection on our Constitution and on the body that’s supposed to place the nation above petty, leftist politics.

Everyone decent should score 100 percent on protecting and upholding the Constitution. If the Constitution and a politician's goals differ, the politician should change his goals and defer to the Constitution. The sort of sleaze who would "find a way around the Constitution" (a Clinton quote) disgusts me beyond words, and Obama is even worse with his relentless efforts to dismantle the idea of any limits to government power over individuals.

Senator Bill Nelson D, FL - 12%

Unfit to hold office

He’s just been operated on for cancer of the brain, which might explain his anti-America voting record.

Nelson has abetted the cancer in the White Hut and is one of the most leftist senators in Congress.

Sessions and Shelby.

Shelby has awakened from a deep sleep and decided which side he is on.

Has Sessions awakened after his vote on Holder?

YES.

And Jeff for vice-president.

Jeff has done more for enlightenment in the Senate than any other. How disgraceful that these good men are outnumbered!

It is because of all these others that we’ll never, NEVER, see a return to polite society or reasonable government.

It’s no small wonder that many of us old-timers wax nostalgically.

read post 12.

Anyone who voted for Holder and went out of his way to praise him profusely is not capable of being discerning enough to become President and competently select the right people around him.

Leave him the Senate.

Got you beat (as if that is something to be boasting) - the self-avowed Marxist from DE, Chris Coons.

BTW, isn’t that a racist name? Change it or else!

I guess that makes us both idiots as I put a sarcasm tag on the post...

Do you have a reading comprehension problem?

See, I can be just as big an knee jerk as you are...

Shall we continue throwing barbs or just take a chill pill?

Remember, we are on the same side !
