After months of investigations of several incidents targeting Orthodox Jews with paintballs in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force has deemed it a possible pattern of bias assaults, two NYPD officials with knowledge of the investigation told JP on Tuesday.
The first paintball assault happened back in March, when a 37-year-old Jewish man, walking on Kent Avenue, was shot with a fury of paintballs from a passing vehicle. On the same night, a second Jewish man was targeted while walking at the corner of Marcy Avenue and Lorimer Street.
The third incident, also in March, targeted two teenagers, aged 13 and 16, who were walking on Morton Street and Juliana Place when they were assaulted with paintballs directed at them. A similar incident in April involved a young Jewish girl playing outside her home.
The most recent target was a 62-year-old Orthodox Jewish man, walking on Lee Avenue early Monday morning.
In each incident, detectives collected information that led them to believe that the same suspects are behind all the assaults. The case is being investigated as possible bias assault crimes, Police said.

I don’t get the implication? A lot of New York cops are Jewish. I’ve known a number of (Catholic) NYC cops and none of them, zero, were antisemites, and most them would probably be repulsed by antisemites, and snide remarks like yours.
It’s not a hate crime when it’s against whites or Joose.
It’s not a hate crime if it’s committed by muslims.
It’s considered a hate crime if you accuse a mussie of a hate crime.
But new York is heavily Jewish.
I read they traced that auto tag to a paintball company. If so the company should know who the people using their vehicle were and the police should be able to bring them in for questioning.
