The NYPD is searching for a group of men who are believed to be behind a string of paintball shootings over the past week in the Westerleigh section of Staten Island, police said.
At least 7 people were hit with paintballs since July 6, an NYPD official with knowledge of the investigation told JP. The first incident occurred on Monday evening July 6, when a man walking on the street was struck with paintballs from a passing vehicle.
In the second incident, an Orthodox Jewish man, identified as 67-year old Abrhaam Revivo, was hit in his shoulder with a paintball while walking the streets on Friday night, July 10, along with his wife and 23-year-old son.

It’s a local New York publication targeted at Orthodox Jews. It’s a warning to be careful in Jewish garb around NYC.
So 1/7 of the victims were Jewish...Doesn’t sound to me like someone targeting Jews.
Those were the paintball shooters in Staten Island today. They were photographed by a retired NYPD cop and it looks like the cops busted them for all the other paintball attacks over the past year.
Only one victims was Jewish. Why would anyone think that was the reason? I could understand if all seven were Jewish...

Good. They’re dirtbags, but I don’t understand the Jewish angle. 6 of 7 were not Jews. The hate crime people come out because one was Jewish?
They were attacking Jews all across the NYC area. There have been multiple attacks over the past year in different locations.
I read your link you posted to the other Freeper. Maybe they are targeting Jewish people. They aren’t very good at it considering the non Jewish people they targeted. Maybe they figured all White people in Brooklyn are Jewish...

The reason that the police are interested in this case because a Jewish man was hit by paintballs, is that if he was specifically targeted because of his religion (religious garb), then it becomes a federal Hate Crimes case.
I know it is stupid to raise penalties for a crime that is committed against one group over another set of targets, but that is how the Dems/Libs constructed the laws.
I say treat the perps all the same, and just give them the max for each “offense”.
However, in NYC, Jews, esp. Orthodox Jews have been targeted by both black and Moslem extremists for criminal attacks and death. Rabbi Meir Kahane, who I interviewed for a Jewish newspaper many decades ago, was shot and killed by a suspected Al Qaeda operative or sympathizer, making Kahane perhaps the first American/Israeli victim of AQ in the US.

I say, just try the bastards for the crime and give them the maximum sentence, and then deport if possible.
On Monday, green paint was also seen splattered across the sidewalk when a man and his two grandchildren got targeted walking home from synagogue.
