Donald Trump: ‘I’m actually a conservative with a heart’

Businessman Donald Trump on Thursday said the country has to provide health care for the poor and that he’s “actually a conservative with a heart” who can work out deals with hospitals to make it happen.

“I want people taken care of in the country, okay? You can call it anything you want, but I want — including people that don’t have anything,” Mr. Trump said on “The John Fredericks Show.” about “We gotta do that.”

Mr. Fredericks, a Virginia-based radio host who has predicted that Mr. Trump will win the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, had asked Mr. Trump how to reconcile his statements critical of President Obama’s health care law with past statements in which Mr. Trump was warm to the notion of universal health care coverage.

“You know, I’m a very conservative guy … number one, the people that can do it, we’re going to get them plans that are so good and we’re going to break the borders, we’re going to go [to] the private plans,” Mr. Trump said. “A lot of people had plans they loved before Obamacare came along. You probably did. I have friends that had really good plans — now they have horrible plans and they’re paying five times more for [them].

My wife who is some 20+ years younger than I had an unknown pre existing condition with several holes in her heart.
She had insurance and did not know what was going on. When the insurance company got the bill for the repair surgery they turned around and retroactively canceled her insurance and presented her with a $50,000 bill.
Luckily my not then wife had her wealthy employer offer to straight out pay that bill.

After that she at age 23 had to pay $700 a month for insurance.
Twelve years later she is paying regular rates because her heart is now repaired and she is healthy.

There does need to be a pre existing medical safety net so people don't just die.
Maybe the answer is that pre medical conditions must pay up to 8% of income to be covered by medical and call it a day.

You were a screaming Romney backer. I think you can make allowances for one mistake.

Why don’t you tell us why Cruz flip-flopped? After-all, according to folks like you, an imperfect past disqualifies one for POTUS...does it not? Simply applying your standard Normy.

That’s an interesting idea. The bottom line? Don’t make a one sized fits all gummint program for 330 million people based on a few million’s situation.

Lots of homeless do die of drug, addiction, mental and health conditions on the streets all over. But those who want help should have something.
If they have an income they buy it and if not medical.

Why don’t you show where I once called for any candidate to have a perfect past. Once. In history.

You can’t. All you can do is push the liberals of the day over the most conservative option of the day. Thats history too.

So will you vote for Cruz or is his one mistake a dealbreaker... while ALL Romney’s liberalism was not only OK but had you in screaming fits when called on it?

But those who want help should have something.

That's Marxism, boy. Quit reading Mao's little red book and get some Ayn Rand novels. They'll sort you out.

Trump wrote in his in his 2000 book, The America We Deserve, that “we need, as a nation, to reexamine the single-payer plan, as many individual states are doing.”

sourc

When it comes to health care, this man is every bit as liberal as Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Yet many here want him as the next Republican nominee? No thanks.

That’s because once again, those peoples actions show them to be as liberal as any Democrat.

Simply being on FR is no get out of jail free card for liberals but they sure think it is. Election after election.

“Don’t you DARE question my conservatism!!!”

What is conservative about backing people with documented histories of liberalism? WHAT??? Nothing. Thus they are no conservatives. In fact they are conservatives problem. The enemy within.

It’s amazing how 10 billion dollars can make an ordinary looking man (with really bad hair) look attractive.

>>Trump is a meteor candidate.<<

I’ve heard them called Roman candles. They burn bright, burn out and don’t go anywhere.

Well when you’re not a true or solid conservative, you will inevitably slip up at some point. HW Bush and his “thousand points of light” and W Bush and his “compassionate conservatism” and “new tone” and Mitt with his “severely conservative” comment....

when it’s really in you, you won’t slip up. What began today was absolutely going to start happening at some point.

Charge all the illegals for care, but we have many young or retired have little money.

So maybe take 8% of their income for medical insurance if they want it and also medical for the broke ones.

Now if the broke ones just don’t want to work, maybe have them do community service to contribute to their expenses to the taxpayer. Doing that would require a can’t sue law for ambulance chasers that would claim disability and injury during community service.

I’m here. Trump didn’t say anything incorrect. Poor people will not be left to die in the streets and health plans can be improved by leaning on the insurance companies rather than giving them sweetheart deals as they have now.

Keep grasping. Who is your candidate again? Do they think the penniless should be left to rot in the streets?
