Rand Paul takes issue with one anecdote, and another claim is called pure fantasy. Cruzs camp stands by the book.
In his new book, Ted Cruz writes that Rand Paul let him down on Obamacare.
During Cruzs now-infamous 21-hour speech on the eve of the 2013 government shutdown, Paul came to the floor to speak for a few minutes about the health care law. But according to the book, Paul seemed intent on bolstering the GOP leaderships skeptical attacks, which were deliberately designed to undermine our efforts.
I marveled that Rand had decided not to be with us in this fight, Cruz charges in A Time for Truth.
Paul, however, says that account isnt exactly truthful.
Its curious because he sent me a really nice, handwritten congratulatory note thanking me for my help, Paul told POLITICO last week. I dont understand.
Cruz portrays himself in his book as the rare creature in Washington whos willing to call out his own party in public and confront fellow Republicans when the cameras arent rolling, too. But in interviews last week, some of his GOP colleagues challenged assertions in Cruzs tell-it-like-it-is memoir, which could undermine the Texas Republicans claim of authenticity.
When he accepted a top job at the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Cruz writes, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell promised that the party committee would stay out of GOP primary fights, including to defend Republican incumbents against conservative challengers. But top Republicans question that assertion, noting that the NRSCs mission has long been to protect incumbents and that has never been in dispute.

Why should I believe Politico and an author with a strange name?
With 16 Candidates, this is just the start of a great Republican assassination process. The likely result will be President Hillary.
Rand Paul-slime ball, Hey I made a rhyme.
I believe Sen Ted Cruz, over the DC elites...and, yes, Pander Paul...that includes YOU.
Is Rand still running?
Why does Ted have to get all high school and complain about the other Senators not being nice to him. So weird. I understand that Cruz is young but to complain about everything that doesn’t go his way is awful immature and definitely not presidential. He stood for 21 hours and that accomplished? Nothing but bragging rights.

Take a look at the candidate list. Most won’t have any
impact but they are there.

No question who I believe here. Cruz easily gets the nod!
Rand is becoming more like his father everyday.

Run away, Rand Paul, Run away ....
He simply pointing out the folly of any productive opposition in Washington. He provides concrete examples. He chose to name names, and I am glad he did. Empty charges mean nothing.
He also has to be able to defend those charges. He’s well equipped to do so.
Rand Paul was commanded by McConnell to vote against the subcommittee subpoena on the fraud perpetrated by members of Congress and their staffs to claim eligibility for exemption. He was red caught red-handed and he lied about it. Since them, he’s been taken out of my consideration for anything except jail.
People can complain about Cruz doing nothing but the simple fact is that he’s been in the trenches trying in the face of overwhelming opposition.
If you need to know why conservatives can’t win, look no further than conservative voters. We go all wolfpack at the slightest disagreement while ignoring the gaping wounds and dragging entrails of whoever is the political Justin Beiber of the moment.
In my nearly 13 years here, I’ve seen a whole platoon of next great conservative hopes come and go. Colin Powell, Condi Rice, David Patreaus, Marco Rubio, Chris Christie and on and on and on.
Nothing has brought me greater clarity than turning off and tuning out virtually ALL political chatter and spending that time with my own research and thoughts. I still keep tabs on what the Mark Levins and Rush Limbaughs of the world think but only enough to direct my own research.
Why does Ted have to get all high school and complain about the other Senators not being nice to him.<<
So that “We the People” can get an understanding about what REALLY goes on behind closed doors at the senate grammar school....
Wow, the GOP-E is trying to tear him down like the Berlin Wall.
