What are the odds that this petition will have any success? The African American Monument on the South Carolina State House grounds was erected in 2001 as part of a bi-partisan compromise reached in 2000 to move the Confederate battle flag from the State House dome and place it at the Confederate Soldiers Monument. Given the recent outcry to remove the battle flag from the State House grounds completely, the people of South Carolina view this as a reneging of the 2000 compromise. Therefore, the people of South Carolina implore the South Carolina State Legislature to pass legislation calling for the removal of the African American Monument from the State House grounds. - See more at: http://moonbattery.com/?p=60668#sthash.xSWNipUm.dpuf

If the blacks are going to start nit picking.
Start digging up the grave of West Virginia Democrat Robert Byrd. Then remove his name from every street, bridge, highway, airport, state, federal and municipal building, park, memorial or statue that bears his name!!!
Therefore, we the people of South Carolina “and citizens the world” over implore the Legislature of South Carolina to order the removal of this monument from State Grounds.
Citizens of the World do not believe in American Exceptionalism nor sovereignty of The United States of America....

Right on bro!! I don't even know what the "black monument" is and I'm offended by it.
I think from now on I'll try my best to be offended by everything I see or hear in person or on TV. Apparently it must feel really really good, maybe even orgasmic, to be offended by something or other, because everybody but me and my dog is offended 24-7 whether or not there's a reason to be.
Good point. A problem is that Gov. Nikki Haley hates the flag, has no sympathy for our history, and she is on the a crusade which would also deflect from her own controversies.
How soon before Haley and that disgusting rep.horne switch to the dems?
Haley is even to the left of Democratic candidate Webb and the ultra liberal Ted Turner when it come to the flag. What bothered me about Haley was when I saw her gloating and denying personal responsibility by implying that somehow the flag caused the murders. She gleefully trashed the flag afterward. It is just a battle flag, part of our history. Being of Third World background, she apparently feels no connection to our history and the Constitution.
It’s all about getting offended for the sake of getting offended for fun and PROFIT.
Yep. It needs to come down. Now.
She told my husband it was ok for him to fly the battle flag on our property if we wanted to. He replied thanks to her that wasn’t safe to do anymore because there are growing reports of peoples’ property getting vandalized. IMO she started all this nonsense about erasing symbols of the Confederacy. Not one relative of the victims of the Charleston murders mentioned the flag after what happened. Haley took it upon herself to use that tragedy to grandstand and make political points across party lines. To me she is despicable.
We S. Carolinians should have been allowed to vote on this. Haley did not allow it. She threw us under the bus, for political gain.
Visitors come here to learn about the history of the State and the South. I think they will now stay away. Way to go Haley!
What stands out is how closely she parrots the Left’s talking points and actions. I doubt this is just a coincidence.
I am a white guy who once looked for the confederate flag on the State House grounds and could not find it because it was well hidden (behind a monument). I almost certainly had confederate ancestors.
I actually love the African American monument! It is well done and I admire the cultural icons.
I believe we should let it stay, provided the race baiters do not call for removal of any statues. However, if we are going to erase history by removing statues, the African American monument must go, too. Also, we should rename all the MLK streets since MLK may have been receiving funding from the communists. (records sealed until 2027)
I disagree. The monument was part of a compromise that has been broken. Remove the monument.
Have you seen the monument?
What difference does that make? If it is part of a deal that the other side breaks, it is immaterial.
One cannot play by rules that do not apply universally.
