Republican presidential candidate Scott Walker says Jeb Bush's last name makes him a poor choice to take on Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in a general election contest.
"I don't think a name from the past beats a name from the past. I think you need a name from the future," the Wisconsin governor told ABC's News David Muir in an exclusive interview Sunday when asked if his soon-to-be rival was a name of the past or future.
Walker said voters "want a new, fresh face to lead this country going forward."
"Not just Republicans, but I hear a whole lot of independents and even some discerning Democrats say that," he said.
The interview came ahead of Walker's official announcement on social media this morning.

I suggest Jeb’s penchant for all things Mexican makes him a leader of the future who would finally destroy this country’s sovereignty.
That’s not a bad line from Walker.....
I can’t believe he said that...so hateful.
He could't have won re-election both in Milwaukee County and state-wide multiple times without them.
Well as you said...Reagan Democrats are the key (and the modern day iteration of the same kind of voter of course). Nationally, the way to win them is the way Reagan did - which is to convince them of conservatism, not to convince them you can be a good moderate too! People respond to leadership.
There are 2-3 Republicans running who have shown leadership. Walker is one of those.
Walker frequently offers very succinct and powerful statements like that. He is either a natural or has someone on his team who is a tremendous writer. Walker frequently has the perfect soundbite to position himself and the opposition.
Which of course is exactly why the RINOpublicans are pushing him. They have caved to the Marxists pure and simple. Agenda 21.
He does....and so, by the way, does Jindal. They’re both pretty good at that.
Agreed....and it’s imperative that we get one of them across the finish line.
You nailed it......that is the imperative.
I agree.
It does not matter what Yeb’s last name is. What does matter is that he wants to surrender the rule of law and the country to fraudulently documented foreigners.
We do not want the USA turned into North Mexico.
Preview of Walker’s ABC interview with David Muir. Calls Jeb Bush a candidate of the past.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Walker’s statement on the Glen Beck show about illegal aliens was very good. That’s been pretty much it. Does not completely outweigh his previous statements. He must come out strong for the citizens if he wants to get the nomination.
Yes. I am a big fan of Jindal, as well. I am hoping he surprises me on this campaign. He’s got my favorite resume of the bunch, between the two I feel going in like Walker is better positioned as a candidate. Both would be excellent conservative presidents.
I am not a big fan of Jindal...but I have noticed some pretty hard hitting pithy comments towards Obama and other liberals in the last few months...and I’m a BIG BIG FAN of using irony, sarcasm, humor to make hard points.
