Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker will sit down for an exclusive interview with ABC's David Muir, anchor of World News Tonight with David Muir, just one day before he is expected to announce his presidential campaign.
Portions of the interview will air Monday on Good Morning America, "World News Tonight," Nightline, and ABCNews.com. Muir will also sit down with Walkers wife, Tonette, and their two sons, Matt, 21, and Alex, 19.
Walker, 47, first gained national notoriety in 2011, when he took steps to dramatically limit the collective bargaining powers of most of the states public unions, including teachers. After successfully passing his controversial agenda, Walkers opponents gathered enough signatures to organize a recall election against the governor.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker sits down for an interview with ABC's David Muir on July 12, 2015.
Walker puts himself in the direct path of the beast — an ABC interview! This is just a partial ping because I am at a different computer and don’t have access to my whole list. I’ll ping the rest of you when I get home.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
There are things I like about Walker but if he thinks the tea leaves are saying he can win in this election cycle, he lacks the necessary instincts to lead the country.
Let me guess, they will make the interview about Trump
Would not be a surprise to see that since the MSM-GOPE has been trying to make this a Trump-Jeb race.
Walker is not bad. He isn’t great but not bad. He is for amnesty? I’m not sure. I don’t think he has any foreign policy or trade negotiations an i’m not sure if he understands how bad things are. I will listen carefully.
Just another loser to sign up for who knows what.
Thank you for the head’s up!
Setting TIVO right now!!!
Just another loser to sign up for who knows what.
lol. The jealousy spews from your pours. I have never seen a group more disgruntled over a guy who accomplished more then every other candidate combined. Now if you want to compare BS speeches and talk, well I give you that Walker is very poor on the BS talk.....most just talk and don’t get anything done.
I agree one could demonstrate proven competence by Walker but many of the others have that too.
I don’t understand you deep seated hatred for our most accomplished candidate with regards to accomplishments during the last four years. The haters are so strange this primary season so far.
Amnesty: yes or no? If yes, go home...
But who is supporting Jebberish? I’m not seeing it anywhere...
Well, this could be his Katie Couric moment, or it could demonstrate his ability to take on the MSM.
Given that ABC will be doing the editing, I think it’s an exceptionally high-risk venture though. It’s too easy to turn an innocent observation into a laugh line that sticks, and you can bet that ABC will be editing with exactly that in mind, in my opinion anyway.
In other words....the same kind of Democrats that turned out to vote for Reagan vote for Walker, and for the same reasons.
He's not Reagan, no, but he cut his political teeth in the era of Reagan, and he learned much from that great man about going over the heads of the snarling beasts in the media and the opposition and taking a strong vision directly to the people.
>>He’s not Reagan, no, but he cut his political teeth in the era of Reagan, and he learned much from that great man about going over the heads of the snarling beasts in the media and the opposition and taking a strong vision directly to the people.<<
Maybe that’s what he’s got in mind here, but if so he’s chosen a high-risk route presuming that he’s given ABC the opportunity to selectively edit what he says. That’s not going over the heads of the media to the people; it’s feeding the media a message and expecting it to come out unchanged when it reaches the people. Big difference.
I would just about guarantee that the interviewer, and certainly his editors, have one primary goal in mind: Take Walker down, using any means necessary.
>>Amnesty: yes or no? If yes, go home...<<
Please tell me which of the 17 or so GOP candidates are not on the record favoring amnesty of one form or another, at one time or another.
Answer: You won’t find a single one, including both Trump and Cruz.
As for Walker, he has now settled on a stance that immigration quotas should be set after considering the effect on the wages and jobs of present American citizens. That position automatically assumes that the border has to be closed, or it’s meaningless otherwise, and it goes well beyond the GOPe which favors immigration generally, regardless of the effect on our present wages.
The GOPe, and the economists who fit that mold, believe that GNP grows when immigration increases the work force. That is true, but it doesn’t mean that real wages don’t also shrink at the same time, which is also very likely true if you’re importing more labor. Walker has recognized this and has found an excellent position to take on immigration, in my opinion, and one that will be accepted by many across party lines as well.
And, yes, you will be able to find amnesty in some form in both Walker’s past and present positions...
“I have never seen a group more disgruntled over a guy who accomplished more then every other candidate combined.”
Agreed, although in fairness I reckon Bush got some stuff done as governor. Cruz has really achieved nothing, Rand Paul has done some stuff that is OK and some that is foolish, but again both of these guys have been in the Senate a few years and both, and Rubio too btw, have seen it just as Obama did, as some kind of trampoline to the presidency.
I’m with Walker all the way and yes I think he can win otherwise I wouldn’t support him.
He got stuff done, withstood the slings and arrows, and is NOT RICH or OVER EDUCATED. I think he’ll play well in Peoria and elsewhere.
Many have tried and failed. Have you any idea what’s already been thrown at him???
Freepers should support conservatives. Trump is not anywhere near that.
I’m going to be scarce until people wise up
Scott who? That was SO YESTERDAY.
