In the aftermath of the Supreme Courts decision on marriage, which effectively codifies Bible believers as bigots, the attack on conservative Christian values has reached fever pitch.
This is not the slightest surprise, as I and many others have been warning for some time now, but the ferocity and ugliness of it is still shocking, and it is something we must be prepared for.
The other day I posted on Twitter, Much has changed since the SCOTUS decision, but more has not changed. Jesus is still Lord, the world is still fallen, Satan is still raging.
An equality advocate responded by challenging me to name one thing in my life that had changed since the decision.
I responded, The absolutely horrific, ugly, non-stop, nasty, vile attack on me (& colleagues) from LGBT advocates. That's just one. :)
Bear in mind that I constantly address LGBT issues with sensitivity and compassion (for two recent examples, see here and here), but because I strongly oppose gay activism, that makes me a hater of the worst kind.
Heres just the tiniest sample of posts on my Facebook page in the days following the Supreme Court decision, almost all of them coming from those who identify as LGBT (or their advocates), and almost all of them being totally unsolicited in other words, open attacks rather than responses to my own posts or comments.
Of course, Im not complaining about this far from it nor is this worth comparing with the real suffering endured by Christians around the world. It is simply a representative sampling to remind us of what were up against.
Again, this is only a tiny sampling of what Ive actually seen, which represents a tiny sampling of hateful comments that I havent seen, but the overall theme is undeniably clear: If you do not affirm homosexual marriage, homosexual relationships, and even homosexuality itself, you are a hate-filled, despicable, uneducated bigot, with the emphasis on that last word, bigot.
How then do we respond?
First, the uglier and more vile the attacks, the more we know were doing the right thing. The opposition is a sign of encouragement to us, and the more people try to silence us, the louder we shout.
Second, we must remember that this is a spiritual battle and that Satan hates homosexuals and heterosexuals alike. Fervent prayer is one of our greatest resources.
Third, we must bless those who curse us and overcome evil with good, to use the words of Jesus and Paul. Responding to hatred with hatred will hurt everyone, ourselves included.
Fourth, we must continue to propagate the truth until the lies are dispelled, cutting through the emotional arguments and rhetorical attacks and doing our best to get people to think, sometimes by asking questions.
Fifth, we must remember that Jesus already warned us that the world would hate us for doing what is right, and so we must renew our resolve to stand firm with backbones of steel and hearts of compassion.
Sixth, we must determine afresh to bring the good news of the gospel to everyone, knowing that our ultimate counterculture weapon is the message of the death and resurrection of the Son of God.
Seventh, we must pray for revival and visitation, knowing that only a massive move of God can turn the tide.
Ultimately, whether America goes up or down, we will continue to live for the Lord, continue to do what is right, continue to reach out, and continue to stand strong.
All left wing movements result in violence. The solution is a wall of lead between you and the left wing mobs.
Do unto others as ye would have them do unto you.
We do what we've always done - what we're doing now.
We hide behind the sofa and cringe in horror, and poke our noses out saying things like "I'm sorry, please like me, I won't say anything anymore".
We are a nation of herbivores, and are completely paralyzed when the fecal-flinging monkeys of the Left start screaming.
IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME.
I wonder if bible believe Christians will create relatively closed communities perhaps similar the Hasdic Orthodox Jews etc. These communities actively and mutually support their members by patronizing each other’s businesses, employment, recreation, living nearby, and participating in local government.
In the past, Christians were valued in society, business and government. Now, they are scorned in those arenas. Sometimes the best evangelism is the witness of virtuous living which can often be more easily and overtly exhibited in a supportive community.
A community open to the people of the world but not of it might be a solution. A light in the dark is great, but I feel that the light needs to be rekindled in a supportive community.
I’ve actually seen half of those on other forums. Bigot seems to be their favorite.
And the hangman's noose for the survivors.
You and I could be bookends. I keep shouting out in the wilderness.
Conservatives MUST activate by convening to make plans for push-back. The voting habits of our representatives need to be monitored and circulated so that malfunctioning members of Congress will be recalled. There needs to be large crowds in the streets banging on pots demanding the resignation of any official who passes edicts that are contrary to rule of law or the Constitution. All leaders, right down to corporate and communities must be held accountable. Basically, conservatives need to just as loud and obnoxious as those who are destroying our society.
The problem is, conservatives are too busy, too lazy, and too complacent to get out of the blogging position. They are Sheeple.
If traditional Christians do not make smaller loyal religious communities, they will end up exactly like non-religious Jews outside of Israel, facing certain demographic doom.
I admit up front that I am not religious. So for me, I see this writer’s “solutions” as being far too passive. Not going to work.
IMO, the hate and violence from the left has escalated to the point where serious and sustained push back is necessary. Passive resistance won’t protect us or reverse anything.
By “push back” I don’t mean violence or the same tactics that they use. I mean massive civil disobedience, I mean in your face refusal to comply with illegal laws and regulations. They can only take the liberties that we allow them to take.
For example, these poor bakers in Oregon are one step away from getting jailed. Which is the [guaranteed] next stage of the left’s persecution of Christians and other “non believers”. The government is threatening to take the home, the personal residence and property of Christians as punishment for their religious beliefs. This is not about a cake. This is straightforward subjugation of a religious group; that’s the intent, that’s the goal. They don’t give a damn about a cake. I firmly believe that a sizable segment of the gay marriage left is hoping for the chance to imprison Christians and anyone else that objects. You can make book on it.
You see, they have carefully fabricated the myth that only kooky Christians believe that marriage is man/woman. Not so. But it enables them to single out a group for persecution. When that is successful, other groups in society will follow. A tried and true tactic. The Nazis used it, the communists have used it many times. Face it, the left in this country is not liberal. They are at the least socialists, but really they are closer to communists.
I think we misapply Jesus’ words about interpersonal relationships when we try to force them onto governments. Jesus was clear that we give Caesar what’s Caesar’s, but he was also clear that not everything is Caesar’s.
I am from that wing of Christianity that believed in fighting the Islamics and prevented the takeover of Europe by finally fighting on the east (Balkans) and on the west (Spain).
I firmly believe that governmental action against other governments is not bound by interpersonal standards. IOW, it is a small jump to applying this at a societal level. If my neighbor and I have a beef, then I treat him with Christian principles, but if a cartel gang attacks my house, then fight back. The same with any ‘group’ action against me and mine.
Fight back.
Luke 22: 36 He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. 37 It is written: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors’; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.” 38 The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.” “That is enough,” he replied.
I wonder if bible believe Christians will create relatively closed communities
I think this is the future. salt of the earth sometimes needs to sit in jars.
Indeed.
But we are past the event horizon. The Alinsky tactic of “make your enemy live up to his own book of rules” is incredibly effective against mainstream Christians - “Your Bible says this, if you don’t believe ALL of it, you’re a hypocrite!”
Name-calling and bullying works every time it’s tried. Shutting down debate is more successful than all other Leftist tactics combined.
Christians are herbivores. The fighting spirit has been bred out of them, and the Left knows it. There are no Draculas, no Hunyadis, no one who will lead Christians to stand against the oncoming hordes.
And there will be none, until Christ Himself returns. And you and I will not live to see it.
Bigot: “a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion”
I’m an anti-nazi bigot.
I’m an anti-communism bigot.
I’m bigoted about pedophilia, adultery, lying under oath and cheating on taxes. I find such behavior repulsive and I don’t want to associate, knowingly, with people who act that way.
I’m also bigoted about a man sticking his penis in another man’s butt so he can deposit semen and calling it “sex” and “love”. It is obviously unnatural and a violation of creation. If someone rejoices in behaving that way, I don’t want to be associated with them.
My response to that is a calm "shut the f___ up". Even had one female moron say "what did you say"? I repeated it even more calmly with a smile on my face. Rely on stealth and then remember always "Admit nothing, deny everything, make counter accusations". There is nothing further to be discussed.
RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.
Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)
Saul Alinsky, Rules For Radicals
“Admit nothing, deny everything, make counter accusations””
That will be my next tag line.
We can ‘do Alinsky’ as well as they.
The real homosexual end game

I’ve seen the most militant and vile in the gay movement are heterosexual women.
