(Washington Times) Since 2012 the government has spent nearly $2 million on a campaign to get women to nag the men in their lives to quit using smokeless tobacco.
The National Institutes of Health has sponsored a continuing grant for the Oregon Research Institute to evaluate an innovative approach that encourages male smokeless tobacco users to quit by enlisting the support of their wives/partners, both to lead smokeless tobacco users to engage in treatment and to help them sustain abstinence.
Researchers had already established that women can be readily recruited to get their husbands to quit chewing tobacco, but now the project is going a step further with a multimedia push that includes a website with an interactive and tailored support plan.
Researchers will conduct a randomized clinical trial to determine the effectiveness of the cessation program.

LOL
There must be some old folklore somewhere that tobacco keeps evil spirits and/or demons away because they don’t like the smell. Got to be something out there. Hate to sound like Sam and Dean Winchester, but the left’s obsession with tobacco is so over the top and limitless, than it just makes me wonder. Of course, since the left serves demons, they would naturally try to stamp it out.
The only other explanation I can think of is the big tobacco settlement when Clinton was President funded a huge anti-smoking establishment that must be still alive and well today. And they are just going after every last vestige of tobacco and smoking, even when it is not smoking (like vaping), because that is what they exist to do.
I just can’t decide which it is.
Ping. With brilliant comments channeling South Park and Star Trek. :)
LMAO!! No research needed for that little ditty! :-)
Are there actually wives out there that only nag when they are paid to do it?
I think information like this should really be disclosed BEFORE you get married!
LOL!! I knew this’d be a great thread!! I am taking that wisdom and applying it at home!
My wife doesn’t nag.
She just focuses like a laser beam on one chore until it gets done. :>)
Am I reading this right?

I should have listened. I didn’t need to see a big picture Rosie O’Donnell
There's the money line.
Satan knew it long ago.
“”National Institutes of Health has sponsored a continuing grant “”
Apparently once an agency has its budget in place, the money spent doesn’t have to be accounted for by Congress or stated in the Constitution....Budgets are “free for alls”!!!! Come one - Come all! Step right up!
My first wife was a nagger but was a redhead.
My eldest brother was drafted in the 50's and the Army thought he's make a formidable MP. He took to "dipping snuff" because he couldn't smoke on guard duty. The habit stayed with him the rest of his life even though his wife badgered him endlessly, she called it a "filthy habit".
He died a few years ago and was laid to rest, but not before I slipped a can of Copenhagen into his jacket pocket. She had preceded him in death and all I could think of was perhaps God would grant him a little mercy as he had gone through Hell for most of his married life. What harm would come from a little dip of "snuse" now and then.

Frickin Naggers !!!
By using the odious term ‘wife’, the NIH shows itself to be a hopelessly bigoted institution. I demand that it be stripped of its funding immediately!
“Honey, why do you dip all the time?”
“In order to put up with you.”
...and that’s when the fight started.
I looked into that end of the tobacco industry a while back and was fascinated that aside from moist snuff, Copenhagen and Skoal and the rest, there’s still a market for chewing tobacco and dry snuff. Now that’s redneck.
How did you know my last non-stop, nagging, jealous wife’s name was Michelle?
What a waste of money! Most women will nag their husbands for free.
