1. fed govt is about bankrupt
2. the result would expected to be fascism
3. the rebellion against the court will have to be won
4. if it isn’t, i’d expect the country to end up broken up into regional governments.
5. secession in the western Canadian provinces was serious. That would have given the western US states a place to go.
Aside from Alberta (which I would compare to Montana) the Western Canadian provinces are not conservative by American standards. A union with British Columbia and Saskatchewan makes less sense than a union with Washington State and Oregon.
