Two things. The kids are not being thrown in jail, that’s part of the sensationalism of the story. They are being remanded into the custody of the State.

The second is this. If the kids won’t even sit down to have a lunch with their father, then the father cannot have custody of them. They would likely run away from him or put themselves in danger to avoid him.

It’s likely that the mother will be put in jail for violation of court order as well. Since the children refuse to be with their father, and mom will soon be in jail, then state custody is the only place left for these children.

Custody of the State? The article doesn’t mention a foster home but a detention center. It can be called a “Children’s Home” but sounds by the description... as a juvenile detention center which is a jail. IMHO.. perhaps foster care together. Dad has visitation at the foster home while family therapy is going on. Then Dad gets the kids. Not perfect... but it is at least a plan. Note: Dad may have to leave Israel and come home to the states.
