Custody of the State? The article doesn’t mention a foster home but a detention center. It can be called a “Children’s Home” but sounds by the description... as a juvenile detention center which is a jail. IMHO.. perhaps foster care together. Dad has visitation at the foster home while family therapy is going on. Then Dad gets the kids. Not perfect... but it is at least a plan. Note: Dad may have to leave Israel and come home to the states.
Sounds like Dad is in Israel on business and lives close to the kids.
Yeah, it’s a place where the kids are not allowed to leave, so in broad definition, it is a jail. But under broadest definition, family homes are jails for kids as well.
What makes this case interesting is that the mother doesn’t get the sympathy and benefit of doubt that happens in 99% of cases.
A friend of mine had to go through a case where his ex manipulated the court during a divorce. In a three month period, she called 911 four different times screaming that her husband was beating her. The police would arrive and she would say he ran away when she called 911. He wasn’t at the house at the time. The fourth time, when they found him, he was in the next State at a big convention with hundreds of witnesses. She was warned not to call 911 again without a real emergency or she would be arrested.
When he went to court for custody of their children, one of the things her lawyer presented was the four 911 calls for domestic abuse. His lawyer was refused the chance to comment on those. So the judge didn’t care what really happened, the fact that there were four calls to 911 was all that mattered. He lost custody of his kids because of those calls.
