I would be ok with this if they started with the highest end neighborhoods, first; Westchester co., ny (Hillary’s abode), Beverley Hills, Martha’s Vineyard. etc.
We have had this for years in Montgomery County. Let’s say a really nice neighborhood is planned. Fine. But to get all the permits, there has to be a % of low income/HUD housing available. So, you have the “higher price” single homes, the town home section (regular priced) and within the town home section.. a percentage of lower income. That’s why about 20 years ago or so, there was a Monkey county escape to Frederick and Carroll County. A real estate agent I knew from school always knew the Montgomery Co residents because she would show them a house and they would ask, “Where is the HUD section?” At that time, it didn’t exist there.. not sure if it still does.
"There was living space for thirteen families! In this one house!"
LOL! Now you KNOW that ain’t gonna happen.
Easy enough.
Just mark “black” on the next census. That’s where they get this data.
I just read in a thread here yesterday that our beloved FEDGOV is subsidizing and/or providing free cruise vacations for minorities. The poster said blacks.
That said, there aren’t enough minorities on these classy vessels so tax more tax money — that we don’t have — and fill every unsold cabin with those the will ruin the trip for others. It’s free, they don’t have to behave.
This is also directly impacting this years cruise prices, double and triple the prices of last year. Caribbean cruises are usually slow in the summer heat and deep discounts were everywhere last year. Not this year.
Census? Round file. Census taker, nearly in tears when she came for a follow up. Buh bye. Name rank and serial number.
Souter, Thomas, Scalia, Alito, Roberts and Kennedy.
Wait until Carnival starts going to Havana. Woo Hoo!
Let them start with liberal enclaves like Martha’s Vineyard, Chappaqua NY, Georgetown in Washington DC, an other liberal counties where they congregate to get away from the masses.
Keep in mind that the only authority for HUD to do this is tied to the money they provide the states and localities.
Don’t take the money, feel free to throw the middle finger to Obama, Castro, etc.
The solution to this is complete transparency and small d democracy. States/localities should reveal how much money they get from HUD, where it goes, how much taxes would have to go up or services cut if the HUD money went away.
Put it all out on the table and let the voters decide what to do.
And if they decide to throw the middle finger and HUD yanks the money, pressure the Senators and Congressmen to make up for the loss through other means, like earmarks.
Please stop with the Westchester talk. This engineering was tried in lower Westchester and the schools and neighborhood were destroyed. The neighborhoods you talk about are the towns where Hillary claimed to live. Those towns are uber Liberal bastions and they have locked out anyone from moving in by claiming all unused land as wetlands and protected animal lands.
Sure. But keep in mind that it also functions as a huge subsidy to the cruise industry.
They will target conservative areas to dilute the voting power in these blocks.
A community organizer with nothing to lose.
I’m sure there will be no racial tensions caused by buying relatively expensive homes and giving them to minorities.
I don’t know about that. Look at what George Lucas is trying to do to his über Liberal Cali neighbors for putting restrictions on his Skywalker Ranch.
If there were Conservatives with enough money (or Libertarians, hello Koch Brothers) they could follow Lucas’s lead, start buying up Westchester, Vinyard, etc properties and opening them up to low income transplants. Showing up to public zoning board meetings with professional camera crews and filiming the Lib’s outraged reactions for posting on the Internet would really make a lot of Wealthy Lib’s heads explode.
I grew up in Montgomery County. I have always noted when coming back to visit, how many previously nice middle class neighborhoods have changed. I also noted how more distant suburban areas such as Frederick have really grown. We can put two and two together and figure out why this happened.
I cannot find a reference to that.
I live in a very affluent golf course community (yes we bought there on purpose).
I’ve noticed over the last two years that people who obviously cannot afford to live there are now living there in large numbers and causing all sorts of chaos.
We’ll be moving soon and buying several acres to avoid this. In the end though, this is part of the gov’t trying to destroy this country and there isn’t anywhere to really escape to.
