Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell is now calling for hate crime charges in the horrific mob beating of a white man who was left bloodied and unconscious on the sidewalk on the Fourth of July.
The brutal attack was first described as anti-white by officer Alicia Essert in the original incident report, but Capt. Mike Neville said on Monday that the preliminary description was incorrect.
Chief Blackwell has apparently reconsidered and found cause to ask Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters to pursue hate crime charges in the beating, the Cincinnati Inquirer reported.

They have a code for this? Sheesh.
What’s the code for, say, anti-Appalachian Melungeon?
Kinda like coding at the doctors office? Federal mandate? I think a #11 will have little to no effect on the investigation. Now if it were a #10, maybe. :>}
Wow! Finally, a hate crime against a WHITE person. How many times have we read about an obvious hate crime against a white person that the police refused to list as such? Not saying this is some sort of victory.. I see crime as simply “crime” (whether it is against black, white, yellow or red) but this sort of surprises me.
The “Capt. Mike Neville” mentioned in this report should lose his job.
I would assume that “11” is code for “bias crime” of any description, and the “anti-white” is the officer’s specification of the “11” in question.
Somebody needs to post that .gif of pigs flying.
I wonder if anyone here is interested in starting a pool picking the day Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell is fired.
Just a matter of time when you consider Cincinnati has 45+% black population.
Vas you efer in Zinzinnati? I was and hated it almost as much as I hated Chicago,
Even if his analysis of the situation was correct - which seems very, very unlikely - it is incredibly unprofessional to publicly take the side of criminals against your own officer when she has done nothing wrong. She simply filled out a required incident report, a normal part of her daily job.
When officers are credibly accused of driving drunk, domestic violence, and other violations, their superiors typically make comments to the press like: "We're troubled by the allegations, but the public should wait until the results of the investigation."
an affront to Appalachian eggplants & the forgotten people of Appalachia in general. Might I suggest feral animals - It is much broader and inclusive
I never cared for the concept of ‘hate crimes’ to begin with, but if you’re gonna have them then they better start applying them equally for a change.
Yes.. but the department has already distanced itself from the anti-white part (just read it from another thread).
This is the right thing to do.
Good. I hope the Chief told Capt. Mike Neville to sit down and STFU. At the least.
Javol. Vas born dere.
Though, I haven't been back there for almost 35 years. It used to be nice. But that was when the Reds played at Crosley Field...so, things have changed.
It’ll never hold up!
It’s time to start playing the “Black Out” game.
F**k these feral thugs. Time to put them in the ground.
Agreed.
This is downtown Cinci upscale but certainly not crime free ... it borders (to the north & west) areas that are predominantly (shall I utter the word 'black'?).
In spite of Cincinnati's finest these type of occurrences happen with distressing frequency. I lived in the Cincinnati area for 15 years ...
