Lynne Russell, a former CNN anchor who worked for the cable network between 1983 and 2001 – and who was attacked by an armed felon during a trip with her husband – issued a sharp rebuke against those who want to control Americans’ access to guns: “Shut the f— up,” she said, to a local television station.

“If you don’t want to carry, please don’t,” Russell said to Fox 411. “Then, shut the f— up about it. Make your own decisions.”

The truth is that the left has a wet dream when it comes to the abolition of private ownership of guns. Our problem is that we've allowed them as much ground as they already gained. The fact that I cannot own a machine gun manufactured after 1986.

I see there are still a few naysayers on this thread about the choice of motel, but his could have happened anywhere. Where are all you people on FR who were bad-mouthing Lynne and her husband when this story was first posted? Where are all you folks who were calling them liberals and "cheap" and other negative comments at the time? I went back a forth with a few of you, defending the couple and pointing out their backgrounds and experiences.

Like I said then, I had met Lynne Russell in person in the late 70s in Kansas City. She is the real deal and apparently, so is her husband. Sounds like she had read some of the negative press and decided to set the record straight. I'm glad she did. And I am glad that she and her husband made it through this incident alive and the perpetrator is dead. Good riddance to him.
