H-1B ping. Let me know if you're not on the list and want to be added (or are and want to be removed).

His advisers have clearly told him he has to embrace legal immigration or be portrayed as a hypocrite, given his father’s story.

Also Cruz knows that Silicon Valley cash comes with H1-B strings attached

He needs to be ‘Educated’ on the H1B problem and that stand can be changed.

It’s not a deal breaker, he’s still the best in the field currently out there.

Well, sooner or later this is going to bite him in the tuckus, so he can only play the plausible deniability game so long.

“Cruz was asked about Disney’s use of H-1B visas to replace US workers who were forced to train their replacements, he stated that he didn’t know the facts of the Disney case, so he couldn’t comment.”

Just another politico lying. It so disappointing he has swallowed the Zuckerberg BS including the hook, line and sinker.

If we must have an H1-B program (and we must, there really are exceptional individuals with exceptional talents who weren't born here), then employers should be willing to pay a premium for this company saving talent.

Use the system Japan uses: Their guest workers are paid a 25% premium above the prevailing Japanese wage.

They get (and pay for) the extraordinary talent they need but look to their own people first, not last like here.

You do realize that Ted Cruz also stated a considerable list of conditions on his support for increasing H-1B visas?

He didn't know the facts about the Disney case"?! Seriously?!

Cruz has got to get rid of his handlers. He's smarter that that. His proper response would've been: that is an outrageous misuse of H1B Visas and those Visas should be put on hold until we can be sure that H1B Visas aren't being used to fill jobs US workers should be filling.

I wonder how many supporters Cruz will have without a strong stand about the invasion of the US. He only started regaining in the polls when he spoke up for Trump.

I'm thinking this and being played on the trade deal? Maybe Cruz isn't our friend on stopping the invasion of the US.

"Texas Senator and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) declared “I am proud to defend Donald Trump” and promoted his “legislation to increase the number of H-1B visas if there are people who are educated and talented and creating jobs” on Tuesday’s “Laura Ingraham Show. [...]" 😃

The one issue I disagree with Cruz on.

US jobs for US citizens first.

Cruz just doesn’t get it. And it’s one of the few areas he disappoints me in.

“every year US colleges and universities educate tens of thousands of foreign students who are getting masters and PhDs in engineering and math and computer science, and we’re sending them back to their countries. And as a result, they’re going back to their countries, they’re starting businesses there. They’re creating jobs there, and their companies are competing with us and taking jobs away from us. I don’t think that makes any sense. So, I’ve introduced legislation to increase the number of H-1B visas

Non sequitur - H-1Bs attach to employers not employees.

the data shows for every H-1B visa holder that comes in, he or she creates 1.7 jobs for Americans here.

The flaws of that analysis have been exposed at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3271551/posts?page=207#207 and following.

It doesn't make sense.

So, instead of encouraging foreigners to stay couldn't we get the same result educating more American citizens in those same disciplines? Instead of inviting more foreign students in (because they're more profitable for the universities)?

To believe this is not a viable alternative is to imply that there is something genetically wrong with Americans.

Ted, it’s like this.

American government is supposed to work for Americans.

Right now, American government is working as hard as it can against Americans, and it is actually killing Americans as a result.

The political winds are most certainly not blowing in the direction of hey we want more foreigners in this country.

Wake up, or you aren’t going to win. Simple as that.

Standard politico pap. It's unacceptable that Cruz does not know the facts of the case. I'm an average workaday schlub and I know at least the basic facts. You can't be a presidential candidate and not know basic things like this.

That said, I still believe Cruz is the best out there, and he is certainly the ONLY Conservative in the race. This isn't a deal breaker, but he does need to hear quite vocally from his supporters, such as myself, on this issue.

Microsoft, Intel and Qualcomm have all had major layoffs this year.
They eliminated USA employees and rehired in India.
Increasing H1b just means the same people get dumped and since H1b makes 50% less, the USA makes much less in tax payments.

I sure wish I could spend 30 min with Ted Cruz to explain it to him.

I do need to speak with him about the H-1B visa’s

The brain-drain is long since complete.

India seems to be giving away college degrees with cereal box tops these days

I spent half my career fixing things ‘outsourced’ to cheap labor software contractors

We don’t need to increase the number of H-1B visas.

We need to do a better job educating our children. Removing the federal government from our schools is a good start.

I know way too many tech people that cannot find good jobs.
