"He didn’t know the facts of the Disney case"?! Seriously?!

Doesn't know or doesn't care.

His support for foreign workers is obviously visceral.

I don’t really care what lying scum like you think.

Froth on, fanatic.

Why does Cruz have so much more class than many of his alleged supporters? One can't help but wonder if the GOPe is paying people to claim to support Cruz while spewing bile.

Sen Cruz’ staff, repeat after me, “I’m not familiar with the details of the Disney case except to say, apparently even Disney ultimately recognized that wasn’t an appropriate use of H1-Bs, and of course, that’s not what I’m talking about.”

There’s your talking point. You’re welcome.

I have also seen IT departments make a mockery of the law as it is while appearing to follow he letter of the law. If we have that with current H1B levels, what would we get with a 500% increase?

So why is it that so many assume that Cruz would simply continue to allow the lawbreaking go on? Then why bother voting at all?

So, instead of encouraging foreigners to stay couldn't we get the same result educating more American citizens in those same disciplines? Instead of inviting more foreign students in (because they're more profitable for the universities)?

Yes...There's something skewed in the premise here...There are tons of American college graduates who are flipping burgers because the available jobs are being taken by American educated foreigners who will work for far less than their American counter-parts...

Cruz wants to increase those numbers shutting out Americans from even future positions...

Seems like there's something in Cruz's plan we are not being told...

Cruz is definitely pro Constitution and rule of law but is he for America and Americans first??? Or is he perhaps another globalist???

In twenty-five thousand words or less:

Bunk!

No US company works that hard, buys so much advertizing, lobbies and bribes so many politicians TO ACTUALLY PAY WORKERS MORE MONEY!

Sure, the guys in green eye-shades can juggle the numbers to make it LOOK like it’s more expensive, but I assure you no businessman goes through that much effort to spend more.

Was this part of the purported "considerable list of conditions"?

He speaks of making sure companies are actually hiring qualified Americans first before they would be able to bring in new H-1B visa workers.

It's nice that he speaks of this generality - does he say he'll change the current law, which ptetends to already do this? "H-1B Is Designed to Allow Employers to Replace Americans with Cheap Foreign Workers" http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3306445/posts?page=8#8: "You have to navigate through two levels of misdirection in the code to piece all this together. Congress went to a lot of effort to ensure employers can replace Americans and to hide that fact from the casual reader of the code."

I think it makes sense to have immigrants that contribute to our economy rather than immigrants that subtract from it.

I wish I could remember the freeper who said something like “yeah I can accept increasing H1-B numbers as long as those immigrants are paid in the lowest quintile” or something like that. A policy to increase H1-B should allow capable people in while ensuring that they aren’t simply bringing down everyone’s pay....non H1-B employees need to paid more than immigrants generally.

He is the best of the pack, but like all the others, he is for immigration increases. This country is being lost. I realize no one seems to be able to run for POTUS without pledging to increase immigration (I ignore Trump as he is either playing a game, or will be stopped by the open borders crowd).

Thank you, Ted for reminding why I wont vote for you. I like a lot of things you say but you are clearly “owned”. They all suck, the only hope is to let the whole sh!+ show collapse and rebuild it after the moron and sell out crowd has been thinned out.

I don't think anyone's assuming that - they're simply refraining from assuming the best about Cruz absent specific statements about how he'd alter the letter of the law to prevent employers making a mockery of the law's intent. (And his saying he doesn't know about the Disney case gives no encouragement to assume the best.)

Don't count on it. Trump is apparently well endowed so his supporters don't have much room in their heads for anything else.

Cruz is the real deal.

He just needs to hear from his supporters, I trust he'll listen.

He has been consistent on this. His donors want them. The H-1B’s bring folks from terror-sponsoring countries also. If all tech jobs, engineering, etc were FIRST going to Americans and the system worked this would be OK but...it never does. I am eager to see a well-oiled deportation mill created under strong leadership in this country.

"He didn’t know the facts of the Disney case"?! Seriously?!

The Disney case is not a situation of using H-1B to bring in "people who are educated and talented and creating jobs." The existing Disney workers were also educated and talented and had jobs.

H-1B should be restricted from being used for routine jobs, as Disney is doing. There is nothing special or unique about an H-1B worker filling a routine job.

Currently the H1B program, together with family reunification, is being used as part of the effort to shift the demographic complexion of the nation.
