Despite the scaremongering and bullying from those in Brussels, we are waking today with Greece having delivered a resounding No.
That comes despite EU bosses saying that it would mean a Greek exit from the Euro, not to mention the heavy economic pressure placed on the Greek people to go along with the wishes of Brussels. It is a crushing defeat for those Eurocrats who believe that you can simply bulldoze public opinion.
Chief bully-boy Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, and other supposed leaders of the European Union did their best to terrify the Greek people into submitting to the wishes of the European Union. But they utterly failed. The fear espoused by the Yes campaign was rejected. Opinion polls that put the Yes side ahead just days before were way out, as thousands upon thousands of Greek citizens lined the streets chanting Oxi.
Where does Greece go from here? Well it seems to me that Alexis Tsipras cannot go on having his cake and eating it. A more prosperous Greece, ran by the Greeks rather than by the EU must surely face up to the reality that a euro exit is both inevitable and desirable in order for a long-term economic recovery to truly begin.
There is a bigger picture to consider, however. A huge generational dynamic exists, running through all of this. One poll from Antenna News in Greece found that 67 per cent of Greeks under the age of 35 voted No which shows just how much the seismic plates are shifting within European politics. The fact that young Greeks overwhelmingly rejected the Brussels dictat and voted No in huge numbers is of massive significance.

Yeah, I doubt Merkel will exercise that right.
That's the essence of Marxism and the obvious reason why it won't work.
Karl Marx himself recognized the reality that the only way to make his theories work would be to establish a world wide violent and oppressive oligarchy or dictatorship to force the productive people to support everyone else.
He was not smart and honest enough to acknowledge that the productive people would quickly become nonproductive and the entire scheme would collapse into the enslavement of everyone be the ruling oligarchy.
Many fools today still fall for Maex's Ponzi scheme. These fools are not smart and honest enough to recognize the fundamental flaws and violence inherent in Marxism, and they continue to insist on trying to make it work.
Yes, it is.
Au contraire. The only way for Greece to ultimately prosper is for all Greeks to each hitch up to pull the Greek wagon. Transfusions of money from others will only prolong their agony.
For a long time I’ve compared the EU to pre-Civil War US. It will be interesting to see how they handle this.
And the American Union is being murdered right before our eyes.
Next up: Spain, Italy, maybe Ireland?
>>The EU breaking up will set the plans for the NWO back several years, wont it?<<
Nope, it won’t. This talk of the European Union dying before our eyes is absolute nonsense.
“Nope, it wont. This talk of the European Union dying before our eyes is absolute nonsense.”
It does seem like an exaggeration.
I'm trying to think of an important Greek product that I buy. Hmmmmmm..... nope, not coming up with anything.
Something for Nothing. The oldest scam since the dawn of mankind, and people still fall for it even today.
There are many reasons for Greece to stay in the EU but exit from the Euro common currency. It is a mistake, IMHO, to extend the Euro to most of the Southern and Central European countries. But those countries do benefit from the free trade and labor mobility of the EU.
Maybe?
FAGE Greek Yogurt. I go through a liter/week.
However, the US plant is in New York state. I believe it is a subsidiary of the Greek manufacturer.
Greece votes No: The European Union is dying before our eyes
And the way we are going we are next.
True that their only hope is to take advantage of increased autonomy over the long run. It would take a couple of generations to transform their culture. I dont see it happening, but wish it would.
The global elites (sounds so tin foily and stuff), but true there is a group of global elites that set the course and shape of economies, wars, monetary policy and such.
Terror attacks, Aids, WMD’s, financial meltdowns, Bird Flu, Ice age, global warming, climate change, hole in the ozone (remember that one?), Suitcase nukes, EMP attack, asteroid impact, machines taking over people, sea level rise, on and on and on.
These news headlines come and go, but notice something. They keep coming one after another with no breaks, no lulls. Keep the citizens in a constant state of anxiety or fear in an effort to keep them off balance. There are so many “causes” that divide attention. Divide folks along racial lines, social economic/class warfare, political parties, religious affiliations.
The globalist count on this division to mask (again sounds so conspiratorial) the drive toward a global governance.
Where do I get my information. Well, same place many of y'all, but one great source is the bible, G_d’s word.
Simply put...the masses are extremely exhausted and confused by this constant inundation of negative info designed to scare the hell into them.
prince of the power of the air. The father of lies, satan.
Now we see the emergence of what appears to be a false prophet, attempting to make nice nice with homosexuals, muzzies and dictators.
Just a side note. Have you ever wondered why congress talks a good game, tells folks what they want to hear...then vote to pass law/policy exact opposite of their rhetoric?
Ever notice the increasing secrecy in formulating American policy? Notice the increased sense of urgency regarding TARP/financial bailouts, the most recent trade negotiation debacle called TPA/TPP?
Ever wonder why congress would give so much power for trade negotiations to the absolute worse negotiators? Obozo admin.
Have ya ever pondered why whether republican or democrat...the borders remain wide open? Billions spent on the war on drugs yet not taking the very action that would advance the war probably more than any single action...tighten border security. Ever wonder if the whole war on drugs was a ruse and the billions are really being siphoned off into secret accounts around the world? I have.
Oh...so many questions, so lil time.
The main thing that Greece “exports” is tourism. A devalued drachma would make Greece cheaper for European and American tourists, boasting Greek domestic income (at least in the short run). As long as it is tied to the Euro, Greece has no monetary lever to affect the terms of the tourist trade.
