Easy for you to say.

Quite easy, actually.

Monday morning quarterbacking is easy if you'er not in the game playing. This is not a time for second guessing what the victim "should" have done.

On the contrary, to prevent this type of goings on, every day is in fact the correct time to discuss the situation..

This man could have easily been severely injured by this attack. If the man's head would have hit the pavement at the wrong angle, this knockout punch could have killed him.

That is factual, which is why the conversation is needed.

We live in a civilized country.

No, not really. We only have the rule of law. Remove that, and the society get uncivil real quick.

This poor man shouldn't have to walk around expecting blacks to attack him in broad daylight with people around in a public place.

Self preservation requires being prepared for just that very thing.

He is the victim here.

Why, yes he is, and a very unfortunate one at that. Could have ended his life at that very moment, except for the Grace of God.

Why blame him for not defending himself when he was attacked from the back?

I am not blaming him for not defending himself. That is his decision. However, if he was not beebopping with ear phones on, he may have avoided the attack, or have been prepared for it?

Maybe he didn't walk past these little thug criminals to begin with. They came up from behind him.

It does appear he was walking along the curb, and the direction from where appears to have come is where the thugs came from, and appear to still be lingering in that same area, as he collects himself and gets up. Regardless, he was in fact oblivious to his surroudings.

Maybe he never saw them coming.

Indeed.

All the blame here is on the criminals and not on the victim.

What is with the blame game? The criminals are murdering thugs, they should be disposed of as mad dogs. The victim was in fact just that. The question is why, and how can it be prevented.

Why did no one come to his defense or assistance? Were these thugs just allowed to walk away to do this again without the police intervening and arresting them? With such good descriptions of them from the video, I hope they are identified and arrested and prosecuted for felony assault.

Doesn't change the fact that the victim was attacked. And if he doesn't lose the headphones and become aware of his surroundings, he is inviting just such an attack.

I call your attempt at "logical reasoning" B.S. Yours comes from your easy chair. Not in the real life situation this man found himself in. It is easy to criticize when you have time and distance from the real event looking from the outside in. If you were in the same situation, and were attacked, regardless of taking any of your "precautions", you would not be so harsh to judge the man who was attacked in this video. We don't get to vote on "woulda, coulda, shoulda" in life. There is no dress rehearsal like you pretend to lay out in your "rationale" using made-up assumptions. From your excuses, the man is a fool for even leaving his home and exposing himself to the risk of getting attacked in public.

Your last statement says everything I need to know about your perspective, "..he is inviting such a situation." Again, you blame the victim. This is the same antiquated viewpoint that says a woman who dresses provocatively, invites a rape. You are still putting all the burden on the victim to "prevent" the attack. It is not his fault.

BTW, it is not against the law to wear headphones in this country. That is not why he was attacked. He was attacked because of the depraved criminality of these two black tugs, the one attacking and his back-up.
