Police ID suspect killed in shootout with former CNN reporter as Memphis fugitive

Thursday night, Albuquerque police identified the man killed in a shootout at a west side Motel 6 with former CNN reporter Chuck de Caro as 27-year-old Tomorio Walton, who APD says is an absconder out of Memphis, Tennessee. APD spokesperson Tanner Tixier said it is unknown how long Walton had been in the Albuquerque area.

I am now postive that if these people had not been armed we would be looking at a double murder, robery, kidnaping and rape.

One thing I do not understand is why Lynne Russel and her husband were within 5 miles of a Motel 6. They are very successful people who can afford a better hotel.

Walton did time in jail....no one says much over what.
In this case, I’m taking a guess that Walton was transporting something for someone and got short on cash funds to wrap up whatever he was hired to do. Pretty stupid way to go.
I expect toxocology report to ID at least one major drug in his system.

True, but the Motel 6 in question is immediately off the interstate and looks clean and safe enough. There are a number of resturants near by. I think it was a case were they were tried.

One thing I do not understand is why Lynne Russel and her husband were within 5 miles of a Motel 6. They are very successful people who can afford a better hotel. Earlier this year my wife and I were returning to Colorado (via the Grand Canyon) from California. We decided to stop over in Kingman, AZ ... without making advance reservations. Not a good idea ... we arrived in Kingman around 5PM and every upscale lodging was booked. We ended up over nighting at a place that would make a Motel 6 look like a Hyatt Regency by comparison.

Memphis, the home of Marion Barry and a multitude of affirmative action people with little or no ethics. Memphis since becoming a predominant black city has become a hellhole and crime ridden. Bass Pro Shops just bought the pyramid and it hasn’t been open a month and the locals are already robbing the cars in the parking lot there even with guards. Memphis isn’t safe.

He is just one of many thugs that are indigenous to ABQ. Even though he is from Memphis he managed to find his way here.
And the APD gets the bad rap.... that is not right. Most of these guys rap sheets are a mile long.
