“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. “- John Adams
Our whole system of government was predicated on a Judeo-Christian worldview. Without that worldview, without the Judeo-Christian notion of right and wrong, our form of government is not tenable. Secularists and atheists cannot pretend to hold a government accountable for wrong actions because they themselves hold nothing right or wrong. And trying to substitute the ‘rule of law’ for these values is a sick joke- the rule of law is just so much taffy in the hands of a black-robed illiterate malefactor.
Without the restraints of self-governance taught by religion, rule and order will be imposed externally by tyrants. It is a push-pull. Tyrants remove religion to increase their control, secularist cast off God for exercise of their libertine autonomy only to find themselves under a much harsher master. The law of liberty begins with the far of the LORD. Like every other pact with the Devil, the cost is greater than any can endure.
The Jacobins worshipped reason But being disciples of Rousseau, they also worshipped emotion. Our modern liberals no longer believe in reason, and judge from the heart. Whatever make you f eel compassion must be right. If it feels good, it must be good. Next thing we know, weed will be fully legit, because it surely makes you feel good. Oh, course, so does a six-pack while you are driving along the highway. Results? Meh!
