By “the democrats are slime balls, too” I meant they are slime balls like Putin.
I think the demonrats and the republicans both are progressives and together they have progressed this country beyond anything I might think, feel or believe about Putin.
The distinction that is important is how much we, the people, now differ from our "leaders".

We've got our own problems and we are creating new problems.
Whatever Putin may or may not be, Russia is, as of now, officially more Biblically righteous and a "nation under God" than we are now that we're fabulously out of the closet with Pride.
As far as I'm concerned, if Putin's saying so adds an additional sting, then that's all the better.
We have earned it and that's nothing compared to the rest of what we've earned.
