Putin: America Is Godless, Has Turned Away from Christian Values
Breitbart ^ | 06/29/15

Posted on 06/30/2015 8:10:22 AM PDT by Enlightened1

Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the West, including the United States, for eschewing Christian values and opting instead for a “path to degradation.”

In his State of the Nation speech last month, Putin asserted that, “Many Euro-Atlantic countries have moved away from their roots, including Christian values… Policies are being pursued that place on the same level a multi-child family and a same-sex partnership, a faith in God and a belief in Satan.” Russia has adopted new laws that ban homosexual propaganda and criminalizes the insulting of religious sensibilities.

The law on religious sensibilities was approved in the wake of a protest in Moscow’s largest cathedral by a female punk rock group, Pussy Riot. State-run television said the group’s “demonic” protest was funded by “some Americans.” Russia’s newfound embrace of traditional values has prompted a rise in Orthodox vigilantism. Extreme groups such as the Union of Orthodox Banner Bearers, an ultraconservative faction who adopted a slogan “Orthodoxy or Death,” are gaining prominence.

It was not that long ago that the United States was accusing Russia for being a “godless nation.” On March 8, 1983, Ronald Reagan said this about Russia to an audience of evangelicals:

Yes, let us pray for the salvation of all of those who live in that totalitarian darkness–pray they will discover the joy of knowing God. But until they do, let us be aware that while they preach the supremacy of the state, declare its omnipotence over individual man, and predict its eventual domination of all peoples on the Earth, they are the focus of evil in the modern world.

I think there is much to be learned by looking and listening without being a ‘butt kisser’. As an overseas vet of WWII, I take particular interest in where the US has been and is today. I believe Putin is walking on the path of the old time Bolsheviks and there is much to be learned from such. At the same time I have regrets as to how some people of the likes of Obama have taken our Nation down a slippery slope of ‘change’.

"Are you a Log Cabin Republican???"
No, and I'm not attracted to you or your kind either!

"Why are you using known Leftist words like
“hate Obama” ??????

I guess that is where you stopped reading. Too many words in one sentence for you so you stop right there? Have you ever heard of context? Putin and his trolls have a lot to teach you.

"I’m surprised you have not said this article from Breitbart is racist?"
If I were a news site, i would post it too. However, I could not control the trolls and Putin lovers who read the propaganda and agree with it. If Breitbart didn't post this story, then then would be squelching news like most leftist outlets do.

"This came from Breitbart News dip$hit! Hardly a Left Wing source."
I think this comments is your best attempt at propagating Putin propaganda and Alinskyite tactics. There is a big difference in reporting what Putin says and agreeing with him. See the difference? Didn't think so.
Put words and thoughts, aka, flat out lie, in your opponents mouth and call him names like dip$hit. Good job Comrade.

I would not consider loving Putin "Left Wing". If the troll is not actually paid and is doing it for free, I would consider that extremely gullible. Wanna buy some beach front property in Bryce Canyon?

"What dare you saying America is more religious after the SCOTUS ruling on gay marriage? Heck even both sides of this issue will tell you it’s less."
OK, this is another good example of Alinski tactics. Lie about your opponent, isolate him and marginalize him. Sure, you will never find ANYWHERE that I said the America is "more religious", but the ends justify the means. Your troll friends think you are a hero about now. Congrats again Comrade! Well played sir!

"Looks like Putin got your panties in a wad."
Figuratively, a big giant YES! ...wishing you and a bunch of other FRussians would feel the same. For anyone not freaked out and alarmed by what he is doing, and what he is planning do not know their history, or maybe some worse excuse.

I agree. Clinton/Bush is a good example.

However, it wasn't like that in the past. I'll stand and fight here for changing that versus running to a foreign oligarch.

What Obama is doing to destroy our country is an entirely different matter. The point is screw Putin. We don't need any advice from the likes of him. Does anyone here seriously believe he is well-intentioned? That he really wants what's best for America? Not talking to you devoted Putinistas. So please stay the hell out of the conversation.

...anyway, Obama is the best thing that ever happened to Russia. With his hot and eager help, they are sure to return to their ‘glory’ days.

"Put me on the list that says for you to pound sand."

Its too bad they didn't teach you about Russia in First Grade and beyond. If that is the case, then lets do turn this into a first grade elementary class.

> Now, you think that he wants to clean this mess up?

Putin, for the KGB, should apologize for the mess that they made.

Of course I don’t. I think I know what he’s up to. He is trying to make Russia into what the U.S. used to be by emulating us. Do I buy it? No. Why? I know his past. He is ruthless and a cold killer.

In the Great Depression, the Soviets used this same tactic. Lure the poor and unemployed towards marxism and socialism and blame it on our system. Sure, we are becoming more secular. Is this a long term trend? Who knows?

No state voted for this. 5 liberal judged made this decision for us. How does that make us a Homo-loving nation? In Russia, it is whatever Putin wants. I prefer the former system where at least we have a fighting chance.

Through the FSB (the new KGB), they're still making messes, working behind the scenes to undermine us in numerous ways.

Never fall into the trap that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Many Americans were fooled in World War II about the Soviet Union due to its fierce fight against the Nazis. Those who were horrified about Bolshevism supported fascist and authoritarian regimes and overlooked their flaws, even though in the case of Hitler the evil was comparable to Communism.

In the years preceding World War II, many right wing Frenchmen said "Better Hitler than Blum" (referring to the leftist French Prime Minister). Some American rightists are saying "Better Putin than Obama. " Big mistake then, big mistake now.

Many more people actually were murdered under Communism. Something like 12 or 13 times as many.

What you say is true, but I would bet every dime I have that Putin doesn’t hate Americans as much as Obama does.

So here we are in a fox hole, pinned down by the liberals and activist judges, and what happens when things get bad? They tuck tail and run.
